But the girls love it.

Only thing I like about the E46 M3 is the S54 motor.

I like everything except the S54 motor. They could've just used a shorter stroke and aluminum block. Or maybe steel sleeves. Or maybe an MMC block. Anything but cast iron.

They do that with all S-series motors I believe. They tend to hold up.

1300hp out of a 4 cylinder running around 80psi means something is working. And supposedly those were used blocks with 100k+ miles.

Not really. It doesn't matter that you can push 1000hp from the block, because not everyone wants 1000hp and a giant turbo and all the upgrades you need to make it happen. It came from the factory as a naturally aspirated engine.

S62, S63, S65, S70, S85 are all aluminum block.

I like everything but the BZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ.

Oh, and the cam bolts backing out. So, mostly I like everything but the motor. They sounded either buzzy like a Honda with no cats or farty like a Honda with a can. Sometimes both.
