In general, you are not going to get to 400whp on 93 pump octane gas, not without something else to cool it down. 350+ whp builds are almost all e85 based, though meth is being used by some.

350-400 on 93 is a tall order I think, unless you either run lower compression or use methanol injection.
From what I gather, a larger turbo will make a little bit more power at the same boost, but it will also spool up more slowly. In Norcal, we only have 91, and I've given up on the hopes of 400. I'm doing everything one can do to make as much power on 91 that I can think of, FB premium GTX28 kit, Hydra standalone EMS and Hydramist methanol system, Tomei 80mm titanium exhaust and full 3" over and front pipes, 1000cc injectors and bigger fuel pump, Robispec radiator/oil cooler, and other stuff I can't remember. If I see numbers above 350 I'll be surprised and super duper happy. I'll be making a build thread very soon. It's all going on in about 2 weeks. Quote:

Several gasoline stations in the Bay Area dispense E85, so by adding a flex fuel sensor to the Hydra you might have a shot at this goal. That's why you are spending more on engine management, to have more options, right?

Nobody near me has E85, I've checked. I'm an hour north of SF, and the only E85 stations are on the other side of the GG bridge.
I Am going with the Hydra to have more options, but E85 isn't one of them. |
