It won't be the deal breaker for me though. I like the FT-86 as it is.

About this.

What happened to the "I don't care" option?

The rear seats wouldn't work well with a hatch if they keep them how they are.
If they change the seats to lie flat, I'll take a hatch. If not, I don't see a point.

By the way, if I've got four passengers, I don't expect to be pulling crazy lateral gs around a corner, so bucket seats on the rear won't be necessary.

If they can make a good looking hatch then maybe, why not. But I'm already in love with the current FT-86.

But for example, I personal think the Celica hatch (94-99) looked better then the Celica coupe.

In my opinion, that's true for all Celica generations. Toyota even had the good sense to choose a liftback for their 7th (last) gen Celica, and that only came in one bodystyle.

Ironically, lack of a liftback is one thing that may keep me out of this car. Why? Because I wouldn't want to by a coupe and have them come out with the liftback the following year. So every year, I would probably think to myself: "Better wait for the new model year."
