I installed sti group N mounts. Pretty happy with them. Cusco will be the stiffest since they are solid. Sti are the same as stock except the rubber is harder. No real noticeable increase in nvh but stiffens everything up nicely. I really don't like the design of the Perrin mounts, seems like just an afterthought like their swaybars.

I have the Perrin mounts and unlike the above post, I think they were the most thought out. Far easier to pull the motor once the Perrin mounts are installed. I'm very happy with them.

Far easier to pull the motor out? Two bolts or two nuts will hardly make a difference when pulling the whole motor. I say the Perrin seems like an afterthought because the mount seems like its the ej mounts they sell with an adaptor plate. Was not designed for our car but adapted to work with it. Probably works just fine though.

Looking into a pair myself. How were your install experiences guys? I've heard they can be a huge PITA.

Did you leave the header on or take it off when installing them?

Have you seen the stock mounts? They are basically the exact same way. EJ mounts with an extra square raised section added to the backing plate.

Running the Perrin mounts on my car at the moment. With the over pipe unbolted from the header and front pipe, and raising the motor about 2 inches, the install was super easy. There was a ton of room.

I have the STI mounts designed for the BRZ and love them, they are similar in hardness to the Group N mounts sold for other subis

there is DIY on here which says to remove tranny mounts. did you unbolt anything else overpipe (tranny mount, headers)?

The two largest nuts (that go into the slotted holes on the aluminum cross brace) on the tranny mount were undone to prevent damage to it from flexing.

Wasn't too bad man. Don't be afraid to jack the engine way up there... I did the header and mounts at the same time and it seemed like it was easier with the overpipe loosened up and header out. Took about 2 hours total with a lift for both parts and I was moving pretty deliberately.

IMHO, it is only noticeable in 6th gear, 30 mph and putting load on the engine. Aside from that, I don't notice much.
