Had some left over from an old setup, but using double sided tape that is designed to hold on exterior accessories (typical 3M stuff) works well too. I usually will stack it to make the tape thicker to provide more of a gap, so if the plate is slightly out of shape, one part doesn't contact the paint. I mainly used the material to keep the plate from scuffing the paint. Applied around the exterior of the plate with stacked material on the bottom to hold it out slightly.

Went with silver to match the badges, probably from autozone but I don't recall. I should've taken a side shot so that I'm not reflected in it.

Hoonigan frame on mine. I support the brand and what they do.

(I've since debadged the FR-S and put on a Toyota emblem on the trunk lid.)

I prefer clean and simple myself too.

Walmart has what they call a "dealer frame" which is just plain, smoked metal which I thought worked well with a black tag.
