I respect it and all, but I have to agree with what other people are saying that it isn't really a "true" 86 after the engine swap. It's more like the Camry they use in Nascar. Especially in drag racing, where the biggest variable is the engine/HP as opposed to vehicle dynamics. This car isn't winning because it's an 86, it's winning because it's got a supra engine in it.

If the car had an engine swap but was being used on tracks with corners, then I would give it credit, but since it's drag racing, all credit goes to the engine IMO.

I agree. And also would like to remind you that it was used for drifting as well, most of Japanese drift 86s have engine swaps. Coz the the dynamics of this car and the low COG is within the chassis and not the engine alone. I have driven this car many times on the roads, and even with a heavy engine and after some good corner-weight work, it still handles great. For me, still the same car but with balls biggers than MARS!

...That STI ran a best of 7.75, I think. It's a tube frame car with STI clothing.

See guys. This is how you get a Supra to run faster than 11s. You take the engine out and put it in a different car.

Not saying I wouldn't love to own one like it, but I have to agree with those who say it isn't really an 86 anymore. More like a Supra with a face lift.

Anyways, my bad, we are the fastest STREET FT86 in the world
Only reason I'm arguing is so we can hold the "worlds fastest" title here in the states.

Congrats on the great numbers and 1/4 mile times I still want to see this coming out of the original motor. I understand a built motor but Its hard to claim records when you swap out the core of what makes the car go.

That is one quick 86 there.

Any engine bay pics?

Was there much massaging to get the V160 to fit?

You

Though I will give you some credit. The original goes something like "How are a 400hp, a 600hp, and a 1200hp Supra similar? They all run 12s!"
