Fastest FT86 in the World 9.10@256km/hr!

EKanoo Racing managed to run a number of 9-second runs last night with a best of 9.10@256km/hr in their 2JZ-powered Toyota GT86 making it the fastest FT86 in the world, till date.

The car has recently made 1083whp on a dynojet. It still uses a manual 6-speed Supra Tranny and is still as DD as any of our cars :)

For those who havent seen it before, here's a short vid of the old setup (600whp)

The car still retains AC, ABS, Navigation and Traction Control with all the guages and instrumentaions functioning ;)

Meh...

PStaff716 10-18-2013 10:34 AM

mark me impressed... that's twin turbo gallardo fast in an '86... 2jz or not, it's still cool to see and would be an insane ride

dem00n 10-18-2013 10:46 AM

2JZ-powered

Oh...

STV3 10-18-2013 10:49 AM

Cool? Yes! Impressive??? Nah...

YMAA 10-18-2013 10:55 AM

It might be the fastest FT86 chassis...but if there's no FA20 under the hood I don't think it should be considered the fastest FT86.

Still impressive nonetheless.

That is simply insane, that thing is really DD? As in grab your briefcase, stop in to Dunkin Donuts on the way to work DD? :)

As of today, it is the fastest 86 in the world. As of today, yes its impressive.

In the future an FA20 motor will surpass it and that will be even MORE impressive.

But that does not take away from what this car is doing. It's still a difficult thing to achieve and to daily drive that beast must be incredible.

Again, I agree with everyone that it would be more impressive if it were a mere FA20 motor, but that does not take away from the awesome feat.

EKanoo Racing took a very fine car and turned it into an extreme machine. It wasn't just a matter of producing power and going fast, the challenge was how to do an OEM-look engine swap. And yes, this car was built to be used and abused :)

Seeing a 1000hp daily FA20 is surely an amazing thing, but till we get there, this 86 is the King-Sleeper you don't wanna rev ur car next to at a traffic light ;)

Once again I agree this is an awesome car and I appreciate all the work that went into swapping the motor/trans and the work that went into building and tuning the motor. When it comes down to it though, there is no difference to me then an actual Supra running 9s

Ali Afshar has been the fastest 86 platform in the world since a few months ago... Although his isn't very streetable. But the car above has a few seconds of catching up to do.
