What is this cars limit?

So, I've babied my fr-s for the first 2,500 miles. Redlined maybe twice in that time and generally keep it under 4,000 rpm in everyday driving.

Today I decided to have a little fun. It's rainy, so I go find a big empty parking lot and do about 5 minutes worth of power sliding/drifting... Gotta say, absolute most fun I've had in this car yet. But I can't help but feel like I hurt my baby... Even though I know I didn't. Just feel slightly guilty.

My question is, what kind and level of abuse can this car handle on a regular basis without sacrificing reliability or messing something up?

Eh, Both can probably take quite a bit of abuse and still be reliable.

The moment I hit 1000 miles, I changed the oil and now my car sees redline almost every day...

It has 2600 miles right now and it's a very happy car!

The FR-S is made to live life sideways so you won't hurt the car just don't make a habit of bouncing off redline all the time.

Oh and save up money for new tires....

No, I've owned two mustangs in the past. A 2002 and a 2005 mustang GT. Those experienced mainly straight line driving. This is however my first brand new car... Probably why I baby it so much.

If new tires is all I have to worry about then I'm not worried at all. I'll be doing a lot more sideways driving.

If you planning on tracking it, then an oil cooler is highly recommended. If not, just stick to regular maintenance and you'll be fine.

1600 miles of occasional redlines isn't really anything of note

any vehicle produced in the last 30 years not called yugo should be capable of that

True... My BMW has 86K miles and I redline that car every day, still pulls hard, although I did kill the cats, now catless it runs even harder
