Tesla Desk Build

hey lets trash a tesla to build a desk out of it

ROFL!!

http://www.lateral-g.net/forums/showthread.php4?t=43359

Our latest, more unique build we have going on....

Alright, Alright! I'm a terrible BS'er!
We were commissioned by a client who is very involved with Tesla Motors to transform a Tesla bodyshell into a reception desk with a 6 week turnaround time
We recieved a Brand new Tesla shell from the assembly line in bare aluminum and the work began......

Daryl enjoyed this part the best...

well so much for a 2013 Tesla S!

Although factory door handles are really sleek on these cars we filled that area for a more sleek appearance

It was very interesting to see howw these cars are built. Its amazing the amount of aluminum used for EVERTHING. the only exeptions were the steel reinforcements on the b -pillars.

This contour took some time to establish the proper line, it would look completely different depending on which angle you looked at it. The 3 rectangles channels on the rocker are factory

We used factory front hubs to mount wheels, which dont support any weight, they barely touch the ground

The interior panels were fabbed from fiberglass

Some wiring and fitting before delivery...........

Midnight day of delivery....

I thought someone said this was going to fit through the door no problem!

After complete dissasembly, reassembly begins........

And thats our 6 week Tesla build

(the next thread will be of a running car, probably a Camaro, I promise!)

Good thing that wheel and tire has been balanced. Desk might have some wobble at 80mph otherwise.

Looks like the actual desk space is limited.

I suppose it's nice if you can write off the entire expense.

I'm a put a piece a plywood on my lap in my FR-S and write it off too...
