Seriously, just put some black electrical tape over the light.

Personally, I like TPMS, it's a useful device. Pressing a button once a season and fiddling with a tpms-flashing device a bit doesn't bother me at all.

Here's some interesting technical details on TPMS.

^LOL @ using the transmitter for causing certain cars to display the TPMS light and then getting a cut from local tire shops to do inspections/"fixes" when you send them "business".

I'm going to see if a vacuum sealed bag works just the same. I'll toss it in under the spare tire and never worry about it again.

A vacuum sealed bag holding an extra atmospheric pressure? I'd like to see that

Otherwise, the black tape method seems to be popular.

Exactly.Other Subaru owners have reported that the 'pressurized canister' method doesn't work because the TPMS sensors need to be spinning to be turned on.

On my other Toyota you can get around the light pretty easily. The system is set up so a receiver module informs the ECU when a tire is low, so as long is the light is off, you can disconnect the receiver module, and never see it again. Time will tell where the receiver is and if this works.

Does anyone know of a device that will read and display pressure/temperature info from OEM TPMS sensors? I would think this would exist but I can't find anything.

I have been dealing with this issue on my FR-S. Here is what I have learned:

1. Real factory Toyota/Subaru sensors must be used.
2. Some scanners out there do not work on the sensors due to software issues.
3. If you buy tires/wheels from a decent place (Costco, Americas Tire, Firestone) they will reset the sensors at no cost as needed if you are swapping wheel/tire sets as part of their standard package of free services (rotation/torquing etc)

Download Toyota techstream online for free or order it on ebay with an OBDII cable for under $30. http://www.ebay.com/itm/MINI-VCI-J25...714ef0&vxp=mtr

That is what the dealer uses to reprogram the TPMS.
This will also let you set lot of other things like DRLs, warning volume, etc.
You can check & clear CELs too.
