my point is that being a convertible has isnt going to add or take away any tradition. especially considering that the frs took its naming structure from the mrs which just so happens to be a convertible.

I think it would've been a terrible seller for two reasons!

1. It would probably base at $28-29,500 and folks complain about the fix roofs price already.

2. The MX5 ND model is coming!

Seems to me like they were ready to produce convertible versions but market research told them it wouldn't be popular enough.

I mean, look at the reactions on this forum. We're all fanboys and even we're saying "yeah it would be cool I guess, but I wouldn't buy one" lol

A 30k convertible with extra weight, less practicality and same horsepower? Delayed until the address the larger displacement option or forced induction application to fix power to weight.

It's too early. When sales start to go down, they will market it to bring in some extra revenue

I highly doubt sales will start to go down, not any time soon at least.

Seems exactly like the last old report from months ago. Think this journalist is just late to the party. You see this quite a bit on the interwebs these days.

I would probably buy a BRZ convertible if they made one. I'm not one of these hardcore enthusiasts that looks to shave half a second off a lap time every weekend. As long as the weight didn't increase by a ton (keep it around 3,000), having a very very similarly driving car with the top down would just make the experience better to me. I could see it making sense for them to wait till the power increase and then add the weight of the convertible. I suspect that's what they're gonna do.
