According to this the guy who got run over has a suspended license until 2017 due to multiple violations. His lawyer is going to have a hard time finding a leg for him to stand on when this goes to court.

http://www.bostonglobe.com/metro/201...BaL/story.html

Quote:
Though Mieses is a Massachusetts resident, he has never had a valid Massachusetts driver’s license for a passenger vehicle and has never applied for a motorcycle license, the Registry of Motor Vehicles said.

Since 1999, he has been ticketed by police 16 times, in Lawrence, Methuen, Roxbury, Andover, and New Hampshire, according to registry records.

In June, the Registry notified the National Driver Register that Mieses was a habitual traffic offender whose right to drive in Massachusetts was revoked until 2017, records show.

Not to mention that when you're surrounded by a gang, you're probably fully focused on driving, not distracted trying to find a station on the radio or something.
On the other hand, being surrounded by a mob of assholes flipping you off and brandishing weapons gives one alot of things to pay attention to other than what's in front of him. He could've already been on the phone with the cops. And even if he didn't tap the dude, it might have still ended up the same.
I'm hoping that the second dude that came up to break the back window stopped hitting it because he saw the kid, not because he broke his pinky knuckle and started crying.
All I know is if people and motorcycles didnt stop me from hitting the gas, manhattan traffic wouldnt either.

Bad driver? i'd like to see how quickly you can react when driving at 30-40 mph and someone brake checks you 8 ft in front of your bumper. Also, if he was getting boxed in on all sides by riders and slammed on the brakes to avoid hitting the a**hole who brake checked him, he'd have a couple of bikes plow into the rear of his RR. all the riders behind who weren't aware that he was stopping to avoid hitting the bike in front would probably assume that he was brake checking them to get them to back off, and get angry anyways.

WOW you weren't kidding, I had to see what the "biker forum" viewpoint of the incident was. This is one of them...

Quote:
I don't see how the dynamics change at all... the guy in the SUV used his 4000 lb vehicle to try and murder MULTIPLE people. I hope they dragged him out the car and beat him bad. Regardless of who was in the car, or what happened prior, after the first biker was rear-ended he should have stopped and given his insurance information and called the police, not attempt to murder the rest of them. I hope the guy in the range rover doesn't survive this world long.
But you'll find irrational people no matter where you go so it's not fair to discredit the whole community, of course.
The guy who smashed in the window in was supposed to turn himself in yesterday or today to the police as far as I know

Couldn't agree more. I think that to myself quite often these days... majority of the time it's when I'm driving

As soon as the biker got in front of him he should have backed off. Its not fucking hard. Watch the full video he was in front of him for a long enough time.

I can't believe you guys are defending this guy for hitting the initial biker that's insane to me. Cars jump in front of me all the time in California... no big deal.

People get out of my way when I drive my farm truck. Even bikers. The diesel engine is almost as loud as a harley.
