OMG, BoostJunkie, after looking at a few of the pics on the first page, I instantly recognized which car this was! You had a build thread on SF, I believe? And wasn't the picture with the Supra in the trailer your avatar on SF?

Update
Please for give any wrong words or Auto corrects as this was done on an iPhone Ok guys it's been some time since a good thurough update so I'm going to do my best After we found the BHG, we pulled off the head and everything thing else around the block (for give the crappy pics, they arnt that bad, but that's only because apple put a kick ass camera in the IPhone compared to years past. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() You can kind of tell that the HG blew out inbetween cylinders 3 & 4 on the exhaust side. And it's a good thing we found it quick because it had started leaking threw to 4 & 5 which if left for to long can slowly start to erode the deck of the block between the cylinders While pulling everything apart I started talking with pres about deleteing some of the extras that we're in the engine bay that we dont need, nor were they being used. Also looked at some of the minor things that you can do to help your fuel flow for the stock fuel system. So the following day I started purchasing parts so that we could hopefully get this thing back together ASAP. I also wanna stop and say that Curt from Elmhurst is the man! I was ordering everything I needed for the head build (seals gaskets) and instead of making an easy extra 100$ off me, he was up front and very helpful and let me know that they carried a head rebuild kit(all seals and gasket for the head) for 100$ less then ordering everything I had ordered desperately plus some extras that I hadn't requested in the kit! So after we pulled it apart I started cleaning up everything, came out pretty well Before ![]() after ![]() Before ![]() After

Before
![]() (1/2 way point) ![]() Then I acquired some high heat resistant black paint that not only withstands the temp but deflects it to help insulate from it, and proceeded to use it on my Intake manifold (upper and lower) and on my upper water neck, it gives a matte finish as well, just what I wanted Before I cleaned it ![]() After I clean and painted with the temp resistant paint ![]() ![]() I layed a few more coats after the pics but I'll will take more pics during the day in the sun light, turned out really good Water neck ![]() The next day we went to a welding supply store and bought the cans for Penatrat testing to check the head for cracks, and the results were not what I'd hopped for, we found 4 cracks, 3 in the water passages and 1 in the head bolt passage. C2 ![]() C3 ![]() C4 ![]() Knowing that with these it was just a matter of time before catastrophic failure, I decided to scrap it and do a fresh start, I purchased a head that had just been freshly built from a local member on SF on here who cute an awesome deal, from what I remember it was built with Ferrea valve seals, oem valves, BC Springs, HKS 264 cams and a light port job(feel free to step in Mike if I missed something) and a great price, not to mention it had been check and cleaned for all clearances, cracks, and for being warped. ![]() ![]() Then the parts started coming in Fuel dampner bypass ![]() Head rebuild kit ![]() ![]() ARP Head Studs

The 4"x4' SS pipes to build my full 4" exhaust
![]() 4"x13" polished Tip to cut and weld on to give it some flare ![]() I needed a torque wrench for us to start the rebuild but was a little drained after the head, so I went to my dad to borrow one(my dad is a great guy and supports me in everything) I wasn't really expecting him to have one then he whipped out what looked like a fossil(me being a former USAF Aircraft Electrician/Enviromemtal Systems tech am use to fairly new equipment) ![]() I literally have never seen a torque wrench like this LOL I will update again after this weekend when we start putting everything back together We are also planning on doing the 12volt mod along with the dampner bypass(figure it should help a good bit with the stock fuel system until I can do a full custom one) By custom we plan to go full race mode with a weld in sump tank from Aeromotive ![]() And SS hard fuel line from the tank to at least the secondary high flow fuel filter before the fuel rail. ![]() Never seen it done and I think(even though it's probably great in braided lines) will still be a little better being that it's a hard line of a fairly large size. Feel free to give your 2¢ on that idea, just thought it be original and maybe help slightly if any And here she sits waiting to be out of her lifeless stat and back on the roads, stay tuned in the next weeks will hopefully be getting it together and then the exhaust fab'd up along with cleaning and getting the cam covers and 4" Intake painted by my painter and good buddy Jarret(you may remember him, as he painted my good and spark plug cover, does awesome work! Enjoy!

Yes sir, granted the economy did have an effect on them and the price on a bunch dropped, but if you wait it out I'm positive they will only go up in a few years

Damn man, the head looks sick! And that exhaust looks pretty awesome too, but it's gonna be a pain to bend and weld! I was planning on making a full exhaust in a few weeks, but I wanted to see someone else do it so I would know how much works is involved. I guess you're the guinea pig, haha.
Good luck! Don't break the bank!

Reading through all these pages is really making me want a mk4 Supra. It's going to be a tough decision when I have to actually make it between a Supra or FRS/BRZ. Nice build btw. Very sexy car you got there mate.
