LED fog lights?

Hi everyone,

Does anyone have experience with H11 LED lights? In particular I am looking for a yellow H11 LED (right now I have lamin-x yellow film over my fog lenses but they are not yellow enough)

If anyone could recommend me with a link that will be great.

Thanks!

Brian

Thanks DD. I see that the 18-5050 and the 7.5W Hi Power comes in either "white" or "amber". Is "amber" the same as the turn signal amber? (Not yellow enough as fogs)

out of curiousity, have you measured temps of the 7.5w bulbs in 10 minute intervals for 30-45 min? i'm curious to how stable they are, as that is a lot of power for very little heatsinking...

@OP, H11 3000K LEDs are almost impossible to find, I've tried looking for them awhile ago but came to the conclusion they simply don't make them. I'd be happy if someone can prove me wrong, but all the ones I came across that advertised as "yellow" were actually amber and not true yellow. One alternative is to go HID...but that's a different story. However, Nokya makes some nice 3000K halogen bulbs that serve very well as fogs. Btw, you should really post some high quality pictures of your car, I want to see some TRD goodness

@soundman, I've been running 16w white LED fogs in OEM BRZ plastic fog light assembly for almost a year without any problems. The heat sinks on the bulbs do get a little warm, but I've never noticed any damage or deformation on the housing assembly, so I think 7.5w will certainly be okay.

LEDs are typically run much cooler than the factory halogen / incandescent lighting.

We've had them on our FR-S for quite some time and had no issues.

Here's some color comparisons:

Or you could be real awesome and get a multicolor LED, that way you can make it any color you want and adjust the yellow to fit your needs:

This is one yellow-ish color, it can be adjusted easily via remote or smartphone App:

7w led's still put out a lot of heat, assuming the led is actually driven at 7w... my first iteration of reverse lamp utilised 9w led's(cree xm-l chips, each driven at 3A each), and required heatsinks salvaged from computer processors(mounted so as to expose them to outside air to dissipate the heat) in order to keep from melting the housings for 30 minutes. but 1 hour or more run times would have resulted in melting everything, including the bumper cover the lights were attached to.

Our Stage 2's and up have aluminum housings to dissipate the heat. We haven't had any issues with them and we've done extensive testing to ensure they won't damage any of your factory components.

However, I will try to get the temperature measures for you in the near future. I'll make a note of it.

Thanks!
