Just logged a cold start and mine stays where its been set at 1.0. Drove about 100 miles on this current flash last night and IAM hasn't changed after the cold start this morning.

what is the initial value in the rom set too? If it is set to 1.0 in the rom, it will reset to 1.0 so you may still be seeing a reset and not notice it. If you ever notice the IAM having worked down to a value lower than 1.0 then you can check again. Or set it lower than 1 in the rom and see if it persists after it works up.

Can a mod move this to the tuning section? @Sportsguy83 can you page them again?

Did you see any Knock Correction or Knock Learning Value changes or did those remain zero the entire time?

My Knock Correction Learning has never remained at zero. Below is a pic comparing a stock 2nd gear pull, to a 3rd gear that was done last night. The Knock Correction Learning curve is similar and the max variance in in correction is 1 even with the aggressive timing on e85. Is everyone else seeing a similar curve?

Try setting the initial IAM to .7 or .8 flash the rom, drive around letting it work up to 1.0. Shut off the car, start it up again the following day and then see if the IAM is still at 1.0 or dropped back to what you set the initial value to in the rom.

[quote=MrSlay;1244686]The log this morning was just at idle, so no Knock Correction and not enough rpm to see any real difference in Knock Learning.

The "curve" is equal to IAM * Ignition advance map for the most part. You will see some advance added and removed but you can't tell much of anything when the advance map is stock because it is all over the place.

After seeing this thread, I checked it out on our test BRZ premium (no push button). The IAM is persistent. This is EcuTek tuned.
Like mad_sb said earlier, having the car reset the IAM after each start is not how the Subaru knock system works. This is very much a Subaru ECU. Having the IAM reset after each start somewhat defeats the purpose of the system. Why would you want the IAM to reset higher after a restart if the ecu had been seeing knock and had lowered the IAM to stop the knock? The IAM should always start where it left off and move up or down depending on how happy or unhappy the ecu is with regard to knock. Sounds like the ECU is being reset after/during each startup, and may be a bug affecting only the FR-S. I'll be tuning an FR-S tomorrow, I'll take note and post back. -- Bob |

I've extensively logged, flashed (110 times!), and logged some more on my turbocharged FR-S over the last 20,000 miles of turboboostin', and the IAM has never reset itself. None of the cars I've seen or flashed personally has reset either, FR-S or BRZ.
