NW Mega Meet 2013: Sunday Sep 29th

What's everyone's thoughts on Packwood? I think meeting at the school in Woodland isn't a viable option anymore. If it weren't going to be windy we probably could have been ok but the wind will make it pretty shitty. I had Sunday blocked out for this so I'm good to go. I'd still be up for the drive as the route to Packwood but we'd end up shifting the meet to around 2 o'clock arrival at Packwood. What's everyone thinking?

I'm gonna pass. Due to scheduling I was just going to be down for the meet anyway, so without that I have to bail. Gonna have to schedule a time to pick up my decals though!

Due to the way in which our brains work (specifically our conscious vs subconscious minds), words in fact can hurt no matter how hard you try to not let them. A) that's a ridiculous unscientific explanation and B) It's not a cop-out, if someone calls me a foul word or cracks a joke about my religion, life, or family, I'm man enough to ignore it, or childish enough say something far better and more hurtful. I don't assume the role of the word police, which is just lame, to put it nicely. Especially considering the context, and considering it's the internet and a waste of time.

When I was a kid I was overly sensitive, and life sucked. When I grew up, I stopped taking every off comment or insult personally. Life's too short to get bent out of shape over nonsense like that.

When you get a chance watch Louis C.K.s bit on the word ***got. It's enlightening.

Just drop it, no need to make a hostile environment. The pnw portion of this forum is clsssy. Not trashy. Plus everybody has said their part. No need to go back and forth and fill this with clutter.

People are dropping like flies. I say it's time to call it off. Sounds like there would likely be less than 10 of us heading out of town for a cruise in what would be a very wet day. If PDX people still want to meet up maybe go get lunch and then go see RUSH??

I had signed up for the autocross in Packwood, but 30mph winds, a three hour drive, and heavy rain for just a few runs...I guess I'm not that dedicated. I'll only go if the weather forecast improves.

There's going to be flooding all around the St. Helens area.
UW Rainfall Probability Maps

The big black spot is on top of where the drive will be today and the news is forecasting flooding.
All the ditches will be full, the road may be underwater on the plains and NF25 has been known to wash out in these sort of conditions.

Next Saturday (Oct 5) I'm planning for the Kinetic Vehicle Races up in Port Townsend.
Hope that's not a wash too.

I like this idea of going to see Rush. I saw a preview before a movie and it looked good. It's playing at 655pm at Lloyd center, which is a good central location, plus there's covered parking across the street. I saw we meet there at 530pm, hang out for a while or head to Stanford's or into the mall for a drink or food. Or it's playing at 355 and we could go get food/drink after.
