I already have money set aside for winter tires. This $1000 cheque is actually an "extra" fund. Hard to explain. I'm in a weird situation with Scion atm.

Well, I don't know what I'm doing wrong but just the LED/HID conversion is sitting at $630 right now. Tail lights are going to be another $500+shipping. Then the rear diffuser will be another $100+shipping if I get a cheap ebay one.

I don't know how to get all this under $1000 without compromising quality of the lighting.
The diffuser is pretty much the only thing I don't mind getting a cheap replica of.

+1 for all the folks saying throw it towards the car loan, assuming you have one.

Best upgrade you can do on the car is become the real owner. It's an immediate +50HP!

@kALMIGHTY does it come with TRD springs? If not, get lower springs or coils installed. you will thank me.

If you are pretty tight, the best way to use is funding toward your auto loan.

I'd spend 1000$ for that

Just found the vicious LED thanks to this thread... thank you sir. Will be ordering next week. Will PM you for another request.

They did that on mine too, even told me upon initial negotiations that I would get a check. Figure OP has double checked that and it might be different, maybe because Canada. Not a terrible thing, it's what I would have done anyway.

Alright, so here's the situation that I'm in right now explaining how I'm getting a cheque, just so everybody can see this is just a surplus of money that's coming out of nowhere that I want to use on mods (I have plenty saved up anyway, or I wouldn't have bought the car in the first place if money was that tight).

So earlier this summer, I went to a dealership and they had the car I wanted. It had to be a 6MT Ultramarine. They wouldn't budge on price or throw in anything extra so I went to another dealership.

The other dealership offered to throw in free tint for all windows ($400), plus throw in $500 as a down payment for my car from their own money, but they didn't have the car in stock but there was one on its way and it would be there in a week or two. So of course, I agreed.
Then they call me back a few days later saying that the upgrade I wanted (namely the audio system) wasn't available on the car that was coming in because it's a port installed upgrade and it already was on its way so they could do nothing about it.

So I went back to the FIRST dealership, told them everything the other dealership was giving me, and they FINALLY came down on their price and said they would "match" the offer, and I could take the car they already had so I wouldn't have to wait.

I told the FIRST dealership that I was getting the car for $30,500 with all the upgrades, but didn't mention that the $1000 discount was already included. So when the price was "matched", it was done without that $1000 discount, so in their eyes, I have yet to be reimbursed with that $1000, hence the cheque that I will be getting. Plus they forgot to charge me about $600 for the undercoating/sound proofing that I wanted done, so I saved money on that front too.

This is why I want to spend the random $1000 I got on mods.

Then buy coilovers. I'd have to say overall they change: the look of the car, the handling of the car, the characteristics of the car, the PERFORMANCE of the car, and altogether are a great investment. Whether you are a looks kind of guy or a performance kind of guy, it will suit you. The best bang for your buck? Make sure you search and compare brands before buying!

There is no such thing as an investment on cars.

The reason why I'm not messing with the suspension is because I want all my performance related mods to be from TRD, which explains my TRD intake and TRD exhaust being the biggest mods on my car right now. I'm waiting for TRD springs to come out, plus I want to get through this winter on stock height.

Its an investment on performance, and compared to other pieces to buy for the car, MY OPINION is that coilovers may be the best bang for his buck. It will be an INVESTMENT on his build. Go troll elsewhere.
