The most narrow wheel the PSS comes in with a 35 sidewall is 245. 40 is the least sidewall available for a 225.

Ok, in that case, the speedo difference is about 2-3 mph. Not a big deal either.

Can always get that fixed. Worth it for the PSS

If I were to get 245 which has 35z18, what would be different other than the obvious weight? Would it be louder and a more harsh ride? I have Eibach lowering kit which drops it by almost 1"

The issue is you have a 18x8 size wheel. You need a wider wheel to use that wide of a tire correctly. The ride noise/harshness would not be very noticible. The PSS have a stiff sidewall so the transition from one tire to the next will cause more a impact than the sidewall height.

Ah okay, thanks for the help guys. I will most likely go with 225 or 235 40zr I guess. One last question unrelated to tires. With the new wheel, I need tpms right? Where can I get those for a decent price?

Use the tire tools on the site here and miata.net. That's how I came up with 245/35/18 for myself.

TPMS you can steal from your stock wheels and re-use. You don't NEED them per-say, but you will always have that light on the dash if you don't put them on. That, or disable the light. I say its a great feature and a safety feature as well. Expensive, but worth having especially if you re-use your stock ones for free.

I am going to use the stock with winter tires. It would be a pain to have to constantly switch them every time I swap back(well not really, but I rather not). Do they have to be programmed to work with my car by someone, or is it plug and play?

I'm getting PSS 225/45r17s on 17x7.5s. That seems to be the standard tire size for that size rim. I would think you would want to go with at least 235s on 8 inch wide wheels.
