No I do not want to spin them up ... but when you give it gas on wet roads you kinda expect something more than what my CR-Z can do

That is a easy $5 ... I rarely keep a car for more than a year ... I am trying to change though

You bought the wrong car if you want fast in stock forum. FI is the only way to go on these cars.

I figure 275-300 hp should do the trick
Not on pump gas you wont. With a turbo you can get there with pump

I searched high and low for the right car ... I wanted 4 seats, AT, rear drive preferred, nice styling, power, and good handling ... there is nothing out there that meets these criteria until you get to the 100k GT-R.

The only other car I even considered was the 2013 honda accord coupe V6 ... which is about the same price but with 276 hp ... front drive.

BTW please do not reply with mustang or camaro ... that do not meet the style, handing, or reliability criteria

Aha! Source of slowness found. You didn't by chance test drive manuals then buy the auto did you?

And the gas supplied by the dealership most certainly is the lowest grade available. I had a little fun with my dealer in this regard when I asked about the fuel type that was in my tank prior to delivery. He said every car in the showroom had 87 octane put in it. I pointed to the Porsche 911 and Lexus LFA sitting behind us. He laughed and said those are the owners(of dealership) cars. Of course they had the good stuff in them.

Drive it off, fill correctly on tank 2. Don't use octane booster.

Ive seen supercharger builds pulling 240 at the wheels with pump gas which is 275+ at the crank.

When most people quote HP numbers they want it @ the wheels which would be over 300 @ the crank. Due to the high amount of boost already needed with the 2 popular SC kits, your gonna need E85 and a host of upgrades to get there.(Most people) Hence why i made that comment. Most turbo kits can hit 300 or close to it with 9-10PSI of boost which even in my eyes is a bit much on the crap 91 I can get here in SoCal.

Break the engine in, do all your scheduled dealer maintenance, and then drive it like you stole it. Only use Tier 1 gas to avoid crickets.

Actually, I've seen multiple Vortech's in the 270-300whp range on pump. I know FA20club got 300whp with an upgraded pulley + header. I also heard of 1 member who got 270whp with just injectors upgraded. So its definitely possible with pump.

However if you bought this car because you want to go fast in a straight line, you're doing it wrong. Sure you can get there with a big turbo but you'll also need lots of cooling, probably built engine internals, and much more supporting mods you could go a lot cheaper with another car..

You want to run that much boost 24/7 to hit those number on 91? I would not trust it. But you are right and like I mentioned. Fast is a relative term, but if you want to be fast on the track, this is a great platform. If you want to be fast in straight line, wrong car

Guys I am interested in tracking ... If I wanted straight line I would have bought a mustang GT.

I have gone the turbo road a couple of times ... and IMO ... not the way to go. Too many headaches keeping the car running right ... always messing with the maps, irregular boost, extreme heat melting everything, constantly worried about detonation ... keeping a turbo running constant/consistent is like marrying a supermodel ... can you afford to keep her and how long before she leaves you stranded with massive bills.

I like the SC road and have done this a couple of times as well. 100X more reliable and perfect for a daily driver ... not as much power, but consistent and reliable ... and will not leave you with massive bills the first time you hear detonation.

BTW: I also have a lot of experience with water/methanal injection ... what a mess! Again ... think hot super model, but this time with a drug problem too boot! I ripped my snow performance out of my elise once I saw the $10k corrosion damaged it caused to my cylinder walls ... very expensive lesson

BTW 2: I have 93 here as well as E85 ... but would not want to run E85 regularly. I would probably go with two maps ... and run E85 only when needed.
