Transbrake?

There's no need for LC in this car because you can just launch it off the brake. Stall it up to like 2000 and release the brake. It's not great for the car and the trans is going to get mighty hot if you do it for too long, but that's how most stock automatic drivers drag race.

In the stick cars, just dump the clutch at 3500. If it doesn't hop itself to pieces, it should just hook and go.

Either way, this isn't and never has been a straight line car and there's no need for launch control.

That's how I leave the line at 13PSI in my WRX. I also have an external trans cooler so I don't cook the trans.

PO was a middle-aged lady and this car has ~67K miles currently; unheard of for a 2002 model. Still fun despite the slushbox. Are you a manual elitist or something?

Yes and no. I would never, but people have different reasons for buying their cars. I was just surprised that I had finally run into someone who bought one. They're quite rare.

Shit, it's easier to launch, it's easy to drive, and I don't wear out my shoulder (rugby injury). My FR-S (or BRZ?) will be manual, though the automatic they've attached to it is actually a good unit.

Too bad they don't sell like they're rare

Curious... if you know the IS-F does not have launch control, why would the BRZ/FRS/86 have it?

In 1987, Buick sold approx 20k Grand Nationals. They sold about 5-6k Regal T-Types. Guess which one fetches more money every time.

I would say No in stock form. If someone cracks the ECU or goes standalone I'm sure one could tune in the feature. But would you really need it? My guess (as others have stated)...is no.
