It is indeed the dual tip! If you're still interested let me know. It's in great condition

The stock airbox was something that I was never a fan of. I was one of the first people to get the injen intake and it has worked out good so far.

I'm wondering if, because the BRZ is new, this testing is specifically targeted at it.
I just got home and found I got the letter too. The form they asked to be returned made it seem like they were looking for cars with more then 30k miles. The boxes at the bottom were "Not interested" or "I have less than 30k miles".

Either way, I'm not sure if i'll let them use my car. $100 would be nice but I don't much like the idea of someone else driving my car that much.

I got it twice. Few days ago for my STI and today for the BRZ. Somehow in the STI letter they wanted it to have 10k+ miles, and they want 30k+ on a BRZ.
I get a feeling they don't really want any of the cars.

I drove mine last winter and unless it dropped 4 feet of snow and I couldn't move because I was buried this car is really quite impressive in the snow. If you are really worried you can pick up a set of winter tires and that will solve all problems. If you have the michelin summer tires you may want to think about getting some winter tires anyway, my ST has summer tires and I am replacing them for the winter.

On a side note, summer tires are kind of junky in a winter where you plan on getting a decent amount of snow/cold because they don't have the tread cut for the snow plus the rubber compound becomes incredibly hard in the winter getting no grip. The all seasons are ok.... If it were me I would get a set of summer tires and a set of winter tires and you will have the best of both worlds. The all seasons are ok in the summer and let you slide, which is awesome in this car (one of the only things I miss), and in the winter their tread is cut to help with the snow but the rubber compound still becomes hard and not very good.
Would you recommend getting steelies for the winter tires or just add them on the stock wheels? I just moved to Michigan and JUST got my BRZ, so I'm having similar doubts regarding winter driving. Any recommendations on which snow tires to get?

I had Dunlop Wintersport 3Ds on my STI and WRX for 4 winters and got Blizzak WS70S last winter. I give a slight edge to the Blizzaks but they hardly saw any good snow last year. If I was driving the BRZ in the winter I would throw them on and try them out. The Dunlops were good but a little harder compound (probably why they lasted as long as they did) since we seem to get snow 10 days out of the winter and the rest are just cold, salty, crappy roads. They did well in fresh, deep snow but kind of slipped a little in the packed/frozen stuff. Then again, the STI was something that could launch in 2nd and still rooster tail snow everywhere. The Blizzaks are like gummy bears for hardness, and they perform well in the deeper snow too and frozen over roads. Worth the premium IMHO.

Although, to be fair I've been driving on my Contisport DWS tires on my WRX for the last 2 winters and haven't died yet.

Last year I used 16inch steelies from tire rack and Michelin X-Ice IIs. Not fantastic but not terrible either. Certainly better than the summer tires. You can probably do better.

Who was the black FR-S/BRZ who pulled alongside me on Telegraph on Friday evening? :happy0180:
