This has quickly turned into the Not So Mega Meet LOL. Not doing the northern half of the drive will make it an even longer drive for people from the Seattle area since they would have to turn back south again.

I'd be game for a simple cruise up to Johnston Observatory. Lets keep this year short and sweet. We're out of time and have no solid plan yet for food, donations, or a sheltered location since the 10 day forecast is now showing 60% chance of rain on Sunday.

Edit - shows great weather now...

Frequently in heavily shaded sections just after an open space so it's not visibly obvious.

FS 99 to Windy Ridge observation point is worth exploring too.
I guess rut isn't quite the right word, the pavement has sort of buckled in places and makes what looks like ruts running horizontally across the pavement. THe support under the road washed away and it the pavement drops into those voids creating steps - not sure if there is a term for that. And yes the side has washed away in places but that is avoidable by tracking in the center as needed.

Overcast might be better than a sunny day for visibilty

The route is awesome before then and I think worth doing.

People just need to suck it up and go. If there is a pot hole, pay attention and avoid it or go slow. It's not like the whole trip would be riddled with holes, just a very small section. I'd rather drive on scenic back roads then the freeway.

Same sort of thing happens to me when I try to plan something, no matter what I plan. Everyone has excuses and if the planets aren't aligned most people won't show up. It's their loss. We will have fun and lots of free goodies without them!

Whatever is decided I've blocked off that day and I'm coming.

I've never been up that way, so I have no idea on the roads people are talking about.

Now the 10 day outlook shows 0% rain and clear skies....

I'm down to drive the whole route I posted and my meet location is confirmed as a go just doesn't have shelter if it rains. If no one else has a better idea then maybe @DarrenDriven can put the meet location, route, and schedule I proposed into the first post so it's official and people don't have to be following this thread to decide if they are going to attend or not. The drive will be kick ass especially if it's sunny so we can see the scenery. I don't have time to chase down a food donor so unless someone else handles that it won't happen.

I won't count on the weather forecast until 3 days before. Even then, its still so off.. I already got a hall pass for this day so gonna come no matter what! I was hoping to have a front lip by now but nothing new is out for the BRZ.. Looks like companies are holding out for SEMA now.

4:00 - 4:30 Quick meet up at the gas station and do a raffle of anything that might have been donated.

If it happens to be flogging down rain we may want to shorten up the meet a bit and switch the drive to something less remote. I'll look for an alternate route in this area. Maybe make a run to the Johnston Ridge observatory as the adverse weather fall back?

Spiffy.

These are the kind of roads I really like.
Haven't broke the FR-S yet...
