Old Homelink System-Shame on Subaru

Old bump, but I couldn't program the Homelink on my Chamberlain Liftmaster for the life of me using the instructions provided. Then I found the Canadian instructions and was able to get my Homelink programmed.

Basically instead of holding down the homelink button and remote button until slow/rapid flash, I held the homelink button down and pulsed the remote button 4 times (down 2 seconds, release; repeat) on the fourth pulse hold down until slow/rapid flash. then proceed to follow the rest of the instructions.

Shame on Subaru for using last generation technology!

Show me where to find this $7 repeater. Everywhere I've seen it is over $30 bucks. My clicker works fine so I guess I'll stick with that.

My previous Toyota had one, but I know of no such thing on the BRZ...

It's on the mirror if you bought the mirror with the homelink.

My high tech solution. Throw it in my bag when leaving the car just like grabbing my phone or keys. Have homelink on both cars, never even tried to program it. If I happen to leave one of them outside overnight Id rather not give the local crack heads a free key to open my home.

On my car/homelink the power does not go to the mirror if the power is off. If the crack head gets in the car, he needs to power up the circuit to use the homelink.

Rest assured you do not have to educate me on crime. I had to use deadly force on a man who broke into my home in 2011 with the intention of raping my girlfriend.

A two time felon with convictions for rape, assault and multiple burglaries. He had cased the subdivision I live in and had seen girls out running. My neighbors security camera caught him parked by their home twice when my girlfriend was home alone and the local police dept figured he was following several women on the block I live on. By the grace of God I was home and my girl friend was not home by herself when I was OCONUS. I pray I never am in that situation again as it was the worst day of my life.

Also, I have not tried to program the remote system in my new BRZ or my 2013 Tundra because I do not need or intend on using it. I assure you it is not for the lack of intelligence. I speak 5 languages and have a couple of degrees and I am working on a 3rd.

I do not leave garage door remotes or any other ways into my home such as extra keys in my cars as well. I also do not leave personal documents like insurance paperwork, registrations, workplace ID's, military ID's, etc in my vehicles as thieves could use such information to steal my identity or establish a pattern of behavior and determine when the home is occupied or empty. As a former member of the US Army and current contractor I take my personal security and the well-being of those I care for seriously.

Any other smart ass questions I can answer for you? Is this what you do, you randomly like to troll topics on car forums and leave cute little replies that make you feel superior or look cool to others?
