I've been homeless before, sleeping in a car beats sleeping in a tent. What most of you don't understand is that I worked hard to get to where Iam now. My FRS is my pride and joy, Its a constant reminder of what blood, sweat, tears can make of a man. You might treat your FRS as just a car but some people see their car as something more special. With that being said, would you ever sell your pride for something temporary? |

What you have inside of you, you cannot have taken away without your consent. So given all that, if you still feel so attached to your car you already figured out your answers. And yes, I'd sell my "pride and joy" for something temporary. I've done it 6 times now with each car build I have. -alex |

The rest the money I have saved up is for school. With rent costing almost as much as my education, I cant afford rent unless I cut my food cost to something like 20 bucks a week. |

you didn't sacrifice a roof for education; you sacrificed a roof for a car. well, at least if you pick up cute college chicks because of the cool car and they say "So, are you going to take me back to your place?"; you can reply "You're already in it, babe." |

A college student that can't find a job? Bullshit.
I spent 8 years in college, got three degrees and always had a job of some type. My undergrad years I had at least 25 if not more jobs. Made/delivered pizza, bussed tables, was a barback/bartender, worked in a parking lot during school sporting events, worked at a riding stable because all the hot chicks got riding lessons there, worked at a car wash, worked in the schools computer lab, the schools grounds keeping dept during the summer, on and on and on. There is no way in hell you can't find a job somewhere. Not to mention retailers are already starting to hire temp workers for the holidays. I work in a state that lost most of the jobs they had due to the textile industry leaving the country and there are 40 year olds being retrained to build multi million dollar Honda jets or making more than they ever made in their life slinging boxes for Fedex or Ups. There are jobs in this country for anyone that wants one, might not be the most glamorous job on earth but there are jobs. |

What we do and the awards we earn as a result is what symbolizes what we are are inside. I earned my FRS, and my pride and joy rests within it and I aint about to sell my pride for a short stay in a crackhouse and a used fking yaris. If you can not mentally understand and respect that than I have nothing more to say to you. |

All the things in life, if you are so overly attached to it (symbolic or otherwise) that you can't bear to lose it, then so be it. I never said anything about not respecting what you are doing. I am just saying that if you view your car so important to the level of being unable to part with it under any circumstance, then you already figured out the answer to all your current woes and the point of this thread is lost with the first post. -alex |

I just got here, and im completely new to this environment. 10 years ago the recession didnt even exist. employers dont just come up and offer you a job while youre walking down the street.. Now every job you apply for there is at least 10 others in front of you, most of which has a degree or more experience. To find truly find a job nowadays is with a fancy overpriced degree, or hookups. and since i dont know anyone here, hookups aint an option.

1) earned not given 2) if you put in years of sweat blood and tears 3) and as a result you gained something you didnt once have. I dont expect you to understand, but if you walked a day in my shoes and struggled in life like i have, maybe you'll understand how lucky you are to be you than me. Try losing everything you know, love, and have, then stay that way for the next 10 years and tell me how that feels. |

Live in your car? Your priorities are messed up. So will you be if you do that.
Shelter, nutrition and rest are essential and without these how will you function? Too many kids blowing their savings on these cars. I did the same in 85 for a new GTI. Still regret it! Shoulda go a Corolla GTS. Was a grand more in 85. Seriously, sell the car if you arent joking. I like ramen occasionaly.
