Homeless.. Living in my FRS

So I had to leave my job because Im going to school in SoCal and Im only being supported by financial aid plus some money I had saved up. Im having trouble finding a job here.

Long story short, live in a crack house and eat cup noodles all day, or live in my car and eat out decently.

College student problem... sorry for this pointless thread I just needed to vent my frustrations

god my back hurts... :(

IMO, sell the car. Buy a van or something with some good trunk room that you can fit a small mattress in and keep your expenses down. Hope you get back on your feet soon!

live in your car and eat well. Try to never ever sacrafice nutrition for any other basic need. I would gladly sleep on a bench if it meant i'd eat a nutrious meal instead of regurgitated shit puke.

get a cheap gym membership, this will get you parking, locker, showers and a place to loiter without having to explain yourself.

sleep in the car.

you could also craigslist yourself as needing a place to sleep for 2-3 nights at a time, i bet you can go for a month like this before being too bothered by it.

you can also get rid of the car and get a scooter.. better yet a bicycle. Then you'll be mad rich.

Not to be negative but college student that can't find ANY job?

Your in class for probably at most 4 hours a day. Can't find a job busing tables or retail or any other minimum wage job for a couple hours a day? Would take care of rent pretty quickly...

Come on man... Living in the car shouldn't even be a thought for someone attending college...

I'm sorry you are in such dire straights...but maybe you need to live within your means. Sell the FR-S if you can without putting yourself in further debt, buy yourself a 15 year old beater (if you actually need the car) and live in an actual apartment.

Save the fun stuff for when you can actually afford it.

Drugs are high risk, high reward. Play it smart and you'll be fine.

This does not constitute legal advice and I am not a lawyer.

Sell the car... Driving a nice car yet living in a crackhouse eating ramen doesn't even make sense.

Ha and I thought I was a little irresponsible with my purchase...

How are you planning on paying for both your car and your student loans and a place to live once you graduate?

FWIW, if you're near my area and need a place to shower and pass out on a couch for the night, send me a PM. This isn't an extended offer (unless you want to pay some bills), but what are forums for if not to bring about a sense of community?

TylerLieberman 09-17-2013 05:11 PM

I'd sell the car honestly....

It's only a car. Numerous other cars out there that could still be new but have lower payments, insurance, and better fuel economy. I'd rather have a real place to live and drive a normal, average eco-box than live in my little 2dr coupe.

There's always ways to make some extra money without breaking laws or diminishing your self respect/dignity. Just gotta be willing to look around a bit. Wouldn't be an actual job, but it can help bring some extra change to your pockets.

Also... Isn't there programs out there that helps college students pay for living/housing? I could have swore there was.
