It is the internet. You have to sift through the silt and mud to find the gold nuggets.

As for my lack of sympathy, I have no idea how he drive, how he broke the car in, how he maintains it or how he approaches his dealer when he has a problem. But I do know all of those things can make a dramatic difference in your ownership experience. |

Take the car back to the dealership that said they couldn't replicate anything. If you have proof that they didn't see anything wrong that would be good too. Tell the dealer you want to trade it in for something else and just take the loss. If they come back and tell you stuff is wrong then freak out because they said it was fine. The way I see it you have two options keep the car and deal with the crap or just move on and get something else.

That was my main concern from the get go, this ISN'T a Toyota, it's a Subaru. You may have expected Toyota service, but that still comes after Subaru quality. |

Fair enough. Sounds like you got the shitty end of the stick. IS250/350's are nice, but it will take a lot at this point not to take a hit on your car.

Which, in my experience (I've owned 1 Subaru, but my family has owned 7 or 8 of them) is quite good. I would be very surprised if a N/A subaru doesn't easily clear 200k miles with relatively minimal maintenance.

Long story short, it seems like if there's enough reason to wipe a thread out completely, they'll do it. But that also means someone has to complain about it via flagging. Quote:
But in all seriousness: yes it's frustrating to have issues with a car, but it's like buying any tangible asset in life: you have an expectation, sometimes it works out, sometimes it doesn't, and if you can't deal with it just sell it (for a loss if you have to) and move on to another car that will make you happy. You can buy a house, and have a disaster happen that will leave you with a fat mortgage and no asset (no insurance coverage), and you can complain on social media all you want with nothing solved. Your continual insistence to push back on forum members will just make this worse, to be honest. You want to rant? Be prepared for some push back. This back and forth of "having the last word" just sours your experience more. In any case, "a few dealers won't do shit" doesn't determine the root cause. If they're denying you service because of modifications, you can either 1) remove the mods to get work done, or 2) follow this step http://www.bipac.net/page.asp?conten...enied&g=semaga Or 3) sell the car and get your IS250 that you want so badly. -alex |
