yea I have 7zip and it wont work either haha. I'll see if I can get my hands on winrar. Otherwise, I'm 99% sure I know what the problem is (has to do with the version of winzip I'm using)

Thanks!

perhaps it's a corrupted (not fully downloaded) zip file?

Agreed. For others, when you connect it to OpenFlash Manager it checks for any updates and automatically applies them. I'm guessing this is what it did for me.

I got my stage 1 rom flashed and tried it out on the way to work this morning. So far so good.

I've always done it in ON mode, with 20 reps, and 2 sets for good measure (that's how Perrin suggested it way back when, probably overkill but what the heck.)

So after a reflash: ignition to ON, fully press/release gas 20 times, ignition to OFF, ignition to ON, gas 20 times, start car. Boom, no dead pedal.

Again - it likely works with fewer reps/sets, but this method always worked for me.

Yup, I've had multiple revisions of maps (I have a good tuner ) - Flash count is above 20. I've never experienced the dead pedal.

Basically the ECU needs to be powered up. On mine, it's 2 touches of the start/stop button - all accessories. You could do it with the engine running, but you'll obviously end up revving the nuts off it while sat there.

I think it's actually a minimum of 5 full presses, again I just do a few more. If you have the ECUtek logging screen up you can see after a couple of presses it correctly reflects the pedal. 20 times is way too many, good foot exercise though. All you're doing is showing the ECU the full range of the pedal, a couple of full depressions is sufficient. The reason why it takes a few drive cycles is that you're rarely fully on then off the pedal, which means that the calibration process takes much longer.

My process (ECUtek) - Flash, reset ECU (power off then power on), pedal 5-10 times, start car and allow to idle to calibrate VVTi (1 min), drive off. Works 60% of the time, EVERYTIME..... No, honestly that works without fail.

Just got mine flashed and a small test drive. Feels good through the torque dip and noticeable difference at the top end.

Only issue I'm having is with the initial USB connection of the tablet to the PC. I get this error. I keep trying and eventually it will get past this and work fine.

If you are not doing this already, try launching the software and then plugging the tablet in to the USB port. And just to confirm, you are unplugging the tablet from your car first before connecting to your laptop?

Yeah it seems to work "better" if I launch the program and let it search several times for the device before I plug it in, but not always.

Yes this is unplugged from the car. I'm actually using a desktop.

nope using a home computer, but the version I was using was while accessing vmware to use windows 7 (I have 7,8,vista,xp all on the same server). I'm at work now, but when I get home, I think if I run it from the main computer instead of running it in vmware. I'll update when I get home.

On a side note, is there an ETA on basemaps for e85 in the future?

Try a different USB port also. You may need to reconfigure the port if you're having issues, or could be a bad port

New desktop, blazing fast. USB 3.0 ports on front that I'm using. Some of my hardware has trouble with 3.0. I'll give the older USB 2.0 ports on the back a try.

Edit: Works every time on USB 2.0 ports
