VELO Seat Install - Attempt #2

FINALLY! Finished my VELO seat install. I had the track day on Sunday 1st, with the VELO seat fitted just in time. Unfortunately the seat was angled too far forwards. It was as if you were sitting on a normal dining room chair firmly planted while driving your car. The next morning I had a fairly sore neck because of that.

I ended up getting some different side mounts on Monday. I got these "RPM" *tall* side mounts so I could angle the seat further back.

They are much taller than the BRIDE mounts and about 2 screw adjustments higher than the supplied VELO side mounts. The guy at Revolution Racegear was kind enough to let me bring out a bracket to compare with my car. I bought the bracket and ended up inverting it(front<->back) so it would 'fit' with my VELO seat. It's all fitted dodgey-stylez

Sat and drive in the car for two days like this and it seemed ok, but not optimal. I decided to buy some washers to shove underneath the front rails of the seat to prop it up back even more. This was better.

I still was not satisfied with the setup of the seat and went to COVs Fasteners to buy some longer M10x1.25 Metric bolts to replace the front E10 Torx bolts securing the seat. I bought the 30mm and 35mm ones.
OEM E10 STOCK Bolt, M10x1.25 30mm HTS Bolt, M10x1.25 35mm HTS Bolt

Luckily I did because I ended up using the 35mm ones as I shoved MORE washers underneath the BRIDE rails for even more dodgey-ness
8x Washers under each Bolt/Rail

Right now, the car sits perfectly

Also, I picked up this handy foot pump from MALZ. $32.99 for a dual piston pump. 2x pumps on the pedal inflates about 1psi. VERY HANDY for track days or emergencies.

Track Wheels #2

My latest weekly acquisition. Found these off the local WRX forums for a good price(originally listed for $900). Got the tip off from a local 86 buddy who used to have a WRX.

Haggled the guy down to $800.. they retorted with $850.. I said.. ok.
Cost of a new set with hubrings would be $1300-1350 I believe.. so I think it was a good buy.

These are 2nd hand ones.
17x7.5in, +48 offset, 5x100 PCD, weight 15.25lbs(6.93kg) each.
Will be my 2nd set of track tyres. I'm going to put my old 215/45/17 Michelin Primacy HP's on them and wear them out, then putting on some semi-slick rubber afterwars. Most probably some Kumho KU36's as thats a relatively good brand here anyways.

Some close-up pics from the buyers listing.

P3Cars vent MOLESTED

Got my P3cars vent from @FA20Club.com
Ordered and PAID for in June 26th..
Finally received it today September 17th.. just a little over TWO AND A HALF MONTHS.

Not very happy with this AT ALL. It has the crappy FA20CLUB logo silk screened onto the damn vent display. I should have bought this DIRECT from the manufacturers website, but NOOO I had to buy it off a shitty vendor that is FA20CRAP.

Anyone interested in a 2nd hand P3cars vent?? I'll knock $20 off it. It hasn't been installed.

Spoon Sports Rigid Collar Kit

What does a 'rigid collar kit' do you may ask? I'll just copy-pasta it here..

"RIGID COLLAR are simple in their shape, clever in their design, the material from which they are made is confidential and their performance is unbelievable. Designed by Tatsura Ichichma of Spoon Japan, we expect nothing less.

The basic principle is one of chassis strengthening and rigidity without going overboard and compromising the cars inherent handling characteristics.

The Rigid Collar kit is simple to fit and low cost, Rigid Collars ease into position without affecting the basic geometry of the body.

The way the Rigid Collar works is simple. Bolt holes through the chassis panel and sub frame are normally too big as they were designed for ease of production in the factory.

When the car leaves the factory, everything is new and tight and the chassis hardly moves. After a while, the bolts become slightly looser and movement between the panels begins.

This is why an older vehicle fitted with new bushes, Shocks and springs, still doesn't behave like a new car.

The Rigid Collar is an aluminium washer (as per photo) with a square outside Taper to increase adhesion on the Thinner flange portion in the middle. This fits between the moving panels and with a properly sized bolt (and Bolt Hole as part of the Rigid Collar) is crushed into place when tightened, joining the two panels and stopping movement forever.

Rigid Collars cure chassis movement, improve handling, reduce road noise, reduce vibration, improve braking and make the car safer in an accident.

Like we say, simple in design and unbelievable in Performance."

Most probably, the smallest and most expensive part I've bought for the car so far
Hey Steve, just wondering whether you've installed the kit, and if you have, have you noticed the handling improvement?

Hiya, Nah not yet man. Too busy with work and other stuff. Work 7 days a week 12-12 most times, sometimes I get a half day off.
2nd interval service is coming up soon, so I was thinking of getting the Toyota techs to install it.

I was reading up on the schematic for the installation of the nuts, apparently the bolts are 'one-use' only so I'm kind of sitting on the fence about going a DIY or getting it installed when on the 2nd interval service.

Sold my FA20CRAP branded P3cars Digital Vent

As posted before from a previous post. After over 2.5 months I received my P3cars digital vent. I was finally ecstatic to receive it, then I noticed this shitty logo which @FA20Club.com has significantly defiled with the silk screen logo of their on the face of the guage. As can be seen in the picture below.

I ended up selling this to a good buddy of mine MINUS $20 USD for the cost of a new one. So in effect, he picked up my guage for $20 USD LESS and had FREE shipping. Small price to pay to be rid of any FA20CRAP on my car.

Oh, if anyone is wondering why I'm slightly aggravated with Tony's (lack of) service/support regarding the product selling/shipment and the EcuCrap tunes, check out the below emails and have a gander if your bored..
Observe the abruptness and terseness of his emails. In the end he realised he hadn't sent it(after 7 weeks) cos it was due to his fuck-up, no apology whatsoever.

I'm usually one to SUPPORT forums vendors, but not this guy. Maybe if your residing in Americuuuh it might be fine, but if your overseas... stay the fuck away.

** Note: Guage was ORDERED AND PAID for June 26th, 2013 **
** Received the Guage TODAY.. Not bad for 2.5 months.. I wonder if Tony sent an olympic triathlete to deliver it **

My weekly acquisition.

I'm trying to hold off on buying 'too many things' atm. So I'm trying to restrict myself to one part per week. I emailed a good guy.. Jesse Streeter. This guy can get you pretty much any JDM part you need and he's quite reasonable with pricing(hey, good vendors need to make a living too - and ideally then some) but most of all he's damn good with updates on the products you buy from him. You can usually expect an email from him within the hour.

Ordered and paid for this:

I think freight will be around $100-$200.

Stupid bitch customer(one of the tenants in the surrounding buildings) put a nice 'ding' on the 12 o'clock position of my left wheel arch. As a consequence I've decided to 'upgrade' to something that may be HOPEFULLY lighter than the stock OEM fender, but to also something that is much MORE aesthetic and race/rice looking loike.

These apparently are made-to-order so there is at least a month wait for it(similar to the 2 month wait for my RB diffuser to be made). Hopefully they will be ready at the same time my Abflug Spiral bootlid spoiler is finished too.

Blind newbie? Lmfao, no one cares about your crying and complaining through emails. Those are private emails, there is no business for you to keep spamming us with your hate for FA20CLUB. No one gives a fucking shit.

Your annoying. Take off those last posts with our private emails. and quit crying like a baby.
