I don't like keeping people in the dark. I enjoy talking to you all about this and answering your questions. I try and update this thread with valuable/interesting information so people know what's going on.

Imagine how much more pissed you would be if I just popped in a posted the 206hp dyno and said coming in 6 months

Instead I share everything. This will come to market I can promise you that. With 5 testers beating on it you know you are going to get a better product. Trust me the last thing Rob would want would be to hurt any of our cars.

As you know, one visconti-esque car-b-que and you go down in flames.

I stopped by the shop the other day and Rob had placed a new parts order and was starting to piece some more things together. We were also talking about scalability which is a huge plus for everyone

As always feel free to ask questions and I will answer to the best of my ability.

I guess, because I've been part of developing products, it's one of those things that get under my skin because with the corporations I worked with, you don't "leak" stuff.. There would be no reason to post a dyno and say hey in 6 moths you too could have this.. When you have your product ready you release it.. Go through the header thread with 6-7-8 month wait times and the super charger threads with the same wait times and see how people get fed up and move on..people start thinking, is it taking so long because they are having problems.. I get wanting people to be interested in a product, and I think you do a great job with updates..

I have a question...

Of the testers, who is running Toma's tune? With this tune at what rpm can I safely engage the ESC? Has Toma adjusted the fuel map in the tune?

Pug, bu-tang and I are all running Toma's tune. Afrs are mapped correctly for all load conditions.

I go Wot fair regularly at 2500 but 3000 and up is where its at.

The load is pretty intense at 2000 rpm so I don't go that low very often.

Honestly I am ok with the wait. Sure it sucks but it will be worth having a quality product in the end. All I was saying is that it has been awhile since any activity had happened in this thread. Also I have surprised how long it is taking drift office to respond.

So, I've done this one of the days it rained here this season (recently)... the first time I did it was with the full stability control enabled. I thought the engine bogged down and was jolting the car around, but no! The ESC was firing the rear brakes like mad and freaking me out.

30 seconds later I had turned on VSC sport and hoooo boy, yeah, the OEM tires spun out at 2700 RPM (logged) at 3.9 PSI (calculated) on a wet road. It was FUN.

Not sure if it's the altitude or what, but highest (calculated) boost I've gotten so far is 4.4 PSI, 3rd gear around 4200 RPM; this is calculated using Torque for Android's math.

In my poll thread I see that the Drift Office chose the option "this isn't real FI, have fun with your toy". This was right after tuning so I don't have high hopes for a favorable review. It could also explain the delay.

Assumptions are a bad thing. You might be surprised. Off to autocross this morning with the unit in the rain.......

The instantaneous output from 100 tq NA to 180ish ESC in 1st and 2nd gears at 2,000 rpm gets your attention.

Well, if you sell tunes for 5000 dollar systems, and someone comes along wi a thing needing no tune for 1600, it probably isn't that exciting. However, I would never buy a full on turbo kit, but I'm excited for this... I don't think it takes away market share from the dedicated FI systems.

Whether the review will be objective or not is a question only time will answer.
