My goal is simple - stop letting the knock sensor sing

TBH I wouldn't worry, your seals are probably shot by now anyway..... we all know that our engines are all death traps!

Ha Ha, Its not just seals if you have been involved in tuning since the 80's you learn that knock is best prevented for long term health of the rings and rod bearings and the stock tune with this car has too much.

Ever wonder why the top top Subaru tuners have those big headphones and good hearing?

There are several thing you can adjust. Tip-in enrichment, base ignition timing, base fueling and transient retard for starters.

Potentially, yes. It will take a little bit of time to fine the location and structure of some of the additional data items, but as already mentioned, i found 9 of the 3D tables in just a few minutes yesterday afternoon. I also found quite a few empty racerom tables of various sizes.

We, the user community, need to get started on disassembling the rom. That is going to be the key to identifying unknown tables and creating new features via code patches.

Posting my questions again since they seemed to have gotten lost at the end of page 2...

I didn't see any info on this while skimming through the thread and the website. But is there / will there be a way to bring in a wideband AFR signal to the device for data logging? I'd like to be able to tune my car while logging real-world values on the road as well as using a dyno.

And is the tablet necessary? Or could the software be made to work on a laptop using the same cable used with the tablet?

I'll be following this thread for sure.

I'd also prefer software on a laptop for stability/long term use (tablets tend to break.) But the tablet is probably a bit of an anti-piracy measure. Software anti-piracy has gotten so expensive that a laptop version would probably cost as more than the tablet.

Yeah. I'm guessing that the tablet is the *security* of the product too. The small form factor of the tablet is kinda nice as well. That's fine as long as you can bring in more inputs for data logging.

Speaking of logging... I'd like to be able to overlay averaged logged data on the cells of the maps to assist with tuning.

That is more a function of you tuning software / log analysis software. Ecuedit, for example, does a fantastic job of that but im not sure if epifan will support these roms with ecudit from an editing and log analysis standpoint.

I think he had stated that once they receive the shipment they will send it out asap. So I will assume that they are going to ship it out today if they receive it and you'll probably receive the package by next week.
