I contacted Borla directly for my warranty process. They told me a replacement will ship by the end of this week. I confirmed I do not need to ship mine back at all.

Awesome service!

Damn, that sounds pretty terrible. Would be hard not to notice that sound when you start it up. Glad to hear Borla is taking care of everything for you though.

I also know a guy that had a set of the first borla UEL and the flex connector had a issue, a rattle, but they swapped it no questions asked.. In fact sent the new ones so he wouldn't have his car down.. I'm still on the fence but the warranty is what keeps me going back to borla
JDL UEL headers come with a lifetime warranty, flat flanges as well as flex joints, a better collector, better welds, and bigger inner diameter piping.

Maybe when enough warranty replacements get mailed out they'll switch to Tig instead of rush job Mig welds. When you run a fast Mig/GMAW weld, it heats up and cools quickly. This tends to make Mig welds much weaker than Tig/GTAW. Note the cracks happened at the edge of the weld.

This thread pretty much clinches it. I'll probably be going with JDL or Rev Works unless Borla posts up with photos of a vastly improved product.

Exactly why we like them so much. Excellent service, good price point, and they make great power. Ever have an issue call, warranty it, and get a new one.

I'm still waiting for mine. Supposed to have shipped out yesterday. I'll post pics when the header comes in. Maybe I'll have better luck!

From my journal thread

Quote:
Borla Header Replacement!!

Although I installed the P&L Motorsports EL Header, I wanted to write a few words about the Borla Warranty Process. Overall it was quite painless. My instinct to go with Borla with as my initial header served me well, they are a company who stands behind their product.

I called the number on the website and was told to send an email to them with
> A description of the issue and pictures
> My address and phone number
> The invoice for the header.

I was told one would be sent my way. The following may not be true for your warranty experience, but I was told that I can keep my original manifold and I wouldn't have to ship it back. So far so good.

The replacement did take awhile to come, these are still on backorder so they were still making them. In my particular situation, this didn't bother me. I guess it would be prudent to be patient if you need to warranty yours.

The replacement itself clearly was a newer revision. The welds were much better, and care was taken to clean up the slag from the welding process. Things seem to be re-enforced better as well. One flange was perfectly flat, the other had a hairs width of gap. I think a gasket could take care of that. The merge collector looked largely the same to me.

I took these with an iPhone 4S. No editing done. I think they came out quite well. Enjoy

You said the welds look better than the original one? The welds still look a little bit sloppy to me(although im no professional welder just comparing to what i've seen in the past)

I didn't say the welds were awesome. Just that they were better than my first unit

Say what you will about their headers, but Borla's customer service is very impressive.

i mean as long as the welds work it doesnt really matter how pretty they are since no one will ever see them anyway, i have been considering borla headers for when i start to work on my exhaust setup.
