On top of that, red cars are typically more costly to insure because the insurance companies charge more because the paint is more expensive.
I agree with the extra attention, but I've never heard of an ins company charging more based on the color of a car.

My dad is an autobody worker and works closely with insurance companies like state farm. Each color of paint costs different prices, usually red is the most expensive to manufacture. These factors determine a final appraisal on the repair of a car. Probably makes no difference in payments on generic insuring of a car until after the fact so probably jumped the gun a little on that one, lol. My bad.

Rennaisance Red is one of the deepest and best reds I have seen on a car. Problem was, Toyota painted it Single Stage, so I believe there was no clear. It faded fairly quickly...

That makes a lot more sense. Don't forget red paint, or any paint with pigment added, is heavier than white paint. So for the true weight weenies they should obviously be picking up a white FR-S/BRZ.

Not the best way to build consumer confidence in your paint quality.

T^T all the colors I wanted looks better on an 86 than it would on a BRZ( I know it sounds stupid but it didn't strike me like when I saw it on an 86). I'll just wait till I see them in person now, or see what deals I get on what ever color. I don't really mind if it's black and it's like a grand under MSRP lol. Thanks for finding pics.

Looks like BLUE, black or Silver for BRZ and RED or Gray for FRS even orange. For me.

I've heard of it as a rumor but I honestly can't remember ever being asked about the color of the car from my insurance provider (State Farm) except for the S2000, but the agent had an S2000 so it was a personal interest, not related to state farm.

Actually for light weight you don't want a metallic or pearl color but a solid color that doesn't get a clearcoat... plain whites, reds and blacks often don't have clearcoats, at least with Hondas.

Or just sand off all the paint and polish the bare metal...

Thanks for the picture.

The only request I am going to make is to make sure that it does not come with that front plate mounted to the bumper. I've seen others without it, and I don't want two drill holes on the grill.

Otherwise - it's Fantastic!

Luckily since we are in Florida I'd hope no dealers would be stupid enough to mount the front plates anyways!!
