(SOLD!) Tactrix Subaru EBCS with extended Harness

Up for sale is the Tactrix EBCS with Subaru plug. This is the EBCS Ecutek tuners will use to control your boost via the tune and be able to give you up to 4 maps with different boost setups, giving you the freedom to change your Boost settings simply with the Cruise Control Stalk. I used it on the car for a few days, but decided to go with a full EBC.

The included harness is only a few inches long. I extended it to over a foot long to allow to mount the EBCS to a better location.

Price new is $101 shipped, I'm asking for $80 shipped.

Actual pics of my item:

Haven't decided yet, looking long and hard at the Go Fast Bits G-Force II

So you can scramble boost? =P

Was wondering if you had pictures of where you managed to mount it with that extension and whatnot. I'm looking to go FI soon and I can't decide on ebcs or ebc either..

Unfortunately I didn't take a pic. But if you look at your driver's side strut top hat (enlarge the image below), there is a bolt doing nothing right behind it. In the image there is a white pin on the black hood cable, the bolt is right by taht pin. I bolted it right there.

See the red arrow below for reference to see where I mean.

That's very neat!
Where exactly does this ebcs plug into? I assume it's ecutek controlled? I was under the impression they were only meant to replace the OEM subaru ones, which our cars don't have..

It connects to the EVAP solenoid (the one whose hoses are popping off on 11+ psi guys) connector behind the intake manifold.

Ahh. I see. Pardon the stupid question but is it safe for the tuner to control boost via the Evap signals? I'm interested in this or the Grimmspeed EBCS, but I'm halfway around the world without a turbo (yet) with severely limited knowledge so I wouldn't quite know what to do with it.. Looking at the AVO kit, I'm thinking it might be a lot safer for me (installation wise) to just run a simple MBC

Yeah, its safe. As long as your tuner has the tune nailed down it will be ok. Also, tuners build into their maps Boost Cut safety measures which won't allow your car to go over a certain amount of boost (which is the only bad result that could happen from a boost controller).

Will this render the EVAP system useless then? I'm assuming you disconnect the EVAP solenoid and plug the EBCS instead into the cable that leads to the ecu. Sorry to pelt you with all these questions. I've tried search for hours, it's not a common subject unfortunately.

Dont worry, questions are fine. Yes, no more EVAP system. Researched that online and found people have been doing it for years with no issues.

Is it a Pierburg valve? If so, these are often used in Porsches, so are pretty good.
