I am looking at buying the BREdit Lite so I can load the ZA1JA01G after I change my injector seals this week.

Does anyone know if I can upgrade to the personal version for the difference should I chose to go that route at a later date ? Or do I have to buy the personal edition separate.

Thanks

Are you talking about measured or the OBD/SSM calculated cat temp value? If so i'm fairly confident it displays low.

1250F is nothing for a modern cat, or even an old one. Some modern cats are designed for 2000F+.

Ecutek is complete horseshit being a locked in and no end user tuning product. I'm old school and Ecutek reminds me of HKS engine control systems. The reason why you hardly see any people running HKS Fcon Pro is because only authorized dealers/tuners are the ones only able to access the configs.

I hope some genius comes along and makes something like an HPTuners or the like and blows these scamming Ecutek fools away. This locked in garbage never wins anyways and soon enough, open source will catch up and anything that isn't will be left behind. Ecutek will NEVER see a penny from me.

What the shit is having to pay money for a product you can't even use? ...kinda like having somebody coming to pave your driveway but you can't even park on it. I pray that Ecutek goes belly up. We need less of these guys and more open source type products.

Such a shame. I originally thought it was a full end user tunable ecu product. It's not even close and expensive for what it is. Reminds me of the TechTom tuning chips that had you locked in back in the early 90's! It's 2013 for crying out loud and still the same shit...

i agree 100%, but it works for them. they have a habit of being first-to-market with a solution, raping people on the terms and becoming irrelevant as soon as alternatives are available.

you want OpenFlash or BRZEdit single-user version. BRZEdit is $500 and (stupidly) requires a Tactrix cable. The OpenFlash is the same price and comes with a handheld (like Cobb AP).

Yea, sadly people buy into the Ecutek scam. Sucks that they had to be first to the game. But either they unlock their product to the public or see their sales tank once a brilliant end-user tuning product surfaces.

Like the HKS, it's a powerful tuning ecu from a tuner standpoint for sure. But being locked out of using the product does nothing for us on the consumer end which is why that ECU failed. I already see Ecutek's fate headed this direction if they continue to lock end users and only allowing "master tuners" access to tuning. Complete horseshit.

Pretty sure they will. That's their model. They knew this was coming from previous experience.

So they round up as many suckers as they can initially, then release everything after?

What a terrible business model... that already says lots about who they are.

They don't really ever release any tuning capability to the end user.

The reality is most users out there don't tune their own cars, they either load base maps from tuners or have cars custom tuned. Cobb released their Accesstuner user tuning stuff after a long time of selling devices which could only be programmed with their maps or tuned by tuners with their Protune software, and most people still don't use it. 95% of the BRZ/FR-S cars tuned today are done using Ecutek. For those users they have already made the investment and have little incentive to change unless they really want to tune their own cars.

Ecutek lost favor with the original Subaru crowd because the software locked the ECU to Ecutek and it couldn't be used with any other products. They at least didn't make the same mistake this time around.

If Ecutek was $500 for the cable and license and a tune I don't think people would be complaining as much. Cobb sells a ton of Accessports which work basically the same way. It's the $750-850 buy-in for the cable, license, and tune.

All of the tuning solutions, whether Ecutek, BRZEdit, or the new OpenFlash box are locked to a single ECU, and people still complain about that.

I am still holding out hope that EcuTek will allow it's owners to self tune. I have seen some posts suggesting it might happen.

Hopefully more people will realize this and they'll be forced to change. But they'll never be doing us any favors.

Oh no, another zombie that needs told how to feel, how to behave, and locked inside a box. SMH

You're the type that like to throw money at people, right? Non diy'er I believe...?

I guess Ecutek are for those kinds of people that throw money at people to take care of their shit. Set it and forget it type deal. Not a true tuner end user based system. I guess for the 95% of zombies that bought this car, it's good enough. But for people that like to have FULL access and FULL control (especially after having purchased a system), Ecutek is absolutely horseshit for us.

Have a nice day.

Hey Douche... instead of crying like a baby... and bringing up points that several others have already done. Why don't you stop crying and get a standalone system and you can tune it your self.... problem solved. If you don't like ecutek don't buy it not a single person is forcing you to use it.
