GT86 Headunit connections
This is an image of the back of the headunit which is the same as mine (image is by member keethos) -
I had my headunit out and was wondering what the 28pins and 16pins connections are for. I disconnected these and tried the headunit without them connected and everything still worked as far as I could tell. Didn't test the aux input as had nothing to test it with. Is this what these 2 connections are for? I want to buy another headunit but can't find anywhere that has an iso wiring harness for a gt86. Just realised i've posted in wrong forum section, damn. Can someone move please...sorry. |

The 28 and 16 pin ones weren't even connected on my car, but all the cabling and plugs where attached to the loom. My car had Bluetooth (no external mic) and USB/AUX built into the headunit, so that might be a possibility.
As far as ISO harnesses, anything designed for a toyota after 1987 should work. The Metra 70-1761 is perfect, and plugs into the stock loom no problem. Thanks for that. Do I need the antenna adaptor as well, I think I read somewhere that I might?
