What are doing for suspension? I read they originally used rubber springs???

With well setup suspension it will be like a FWD Exige...

I've been easing into it. Bit the bullet and bought it 2 fridays ago. I've been doing a bit of the work out (10min stretching and 10min of the work outs) on a few of the dvds (really like the kempo x one. Even still I doubt I'll be able to *fully* do the workouts come next week.

Front has coilovers and the rear is the stock trumpet setup. Apparently the stock setup isn't too bad, but if we find that the rears are bad/weird, we can get a kit to convert them to coilover as well. Fully adjustable up front and we are getting new cones and trumpets for the rears...

It's fairly simple. Instead of a Spring, you have a Cone, which is basically a big lump of rubber. The material property of rubber is such that, when compressed, it increases in resistance. So it's perfect as a "spring".

The top piece here is the Cone.

The bottom piece is the trumpet, and that is your basic, run-of-the-mill hydraulic damper which contains fluid and a piston (I believe).

Below is a photo of the rear subrframe:

The Cone/Trumpet unit sits inside the subframe and is connected to the radius arm (control arm) and when the radius arm pivots up, it compresses the Cone/Trumpet.

Using this setup, the Mini had a very nice and fairly advanced fully independent suspension setup which made it a very fun car to drive!

The hand winding on my SARB's 6R15 is so light and smooth I thought it wasn't working. But that's because some of my vintage winders are geared pretty high. You hear tictictictic-CLICK, when winding, the loud click is the mechanism kicking back when released.

Also, for fun, do the math on the accuracy of your watch's 1 minute/week. Mind blowingly awesome...
Yea no, Seagull handwinds are exclusively higher end models I believe. ST19s and handwind tourbillons are the only ones I can recall, both high end in house movements.

The ST21 handwind is geared so high that when you twist it, it sounds like you're sliding sandpaper against something; the clicks are indistinguishable. I saw on watchuseek that someone complained about his ETA2824 watch breaking, and turns out he was winding it by hand every morning and the mechanism broke.

1 minute/week is good, but left alone it would probably stray much more. It's also brand new so this is the best it'll ever run.
