I have no problem running a canned tune, as they are usually conservative.. especially with Vishnu doing the initial tunes.

My SR20VE NX2000 runs perfectly on a downloaded tune to a Calum (you on here?) realtime ECU.

I suggest a sub forum to share tunes.

We can log and display anything you would like. Currently our beta logging code is logging:

Rpm
Throttle %
Load (g/rev)
Knock
Knock learning
Ignition advance multiplier
LTFT
STFT
AFR
IAT

These were the channels that Vishnu requested before they took on the job of development maps for us. If you would like any other parameters added, just let us know. We can even put your logo in the background pic if you want anything customized

I don't believe they are the same tablets. The ones you use (Powergate 3 I presume) use map encryption and don't offer data displays or datalogging. Perhaps that is why you are concerned about logging channels?

i thought you said the files werent encrypted on your units...? my handhelds have all my files encrypted to my Master unit. As far as dalogging goes i know thats a firmware issue and can be easily addressed.

Correct. Ours do not encrypt maps like Powergate 3 which is, on its own merits, is a very fine device.

Well, he borrowed my lawnmower a year ago, saw how great it was, and bought one for himself. I went to the library. I discovered authors I love. I bought many of their books. I went onto YouTube and watched a Macklemore video for free. I liked what I heard. I went and bought the album.

Tuning involves data logging and time. It's not well-suited to people sharing cables and hardware. People want logging. They want to know what's happening much of the time. The will buy hardware. However, they are less likely to buy limited hardware.

Powergate units relay on Decoders to encrypt/de-encrypt the ROM file so that it cannot be viewed/editing by end users. It is intended to be a transport device for tuners to use when the customer is not local to them. This is why it does not datalog or display PID data. The OpenFlash tablet, on the other hand, is configured to be an Open Source tuning system with enhanced diagnostic/logging capabilities. Take a look at our BMW application and you will see that it does everything from adaptation resets, in-dash gauge hijacking, logging, realtime displays and (soon) streaming data graphs. The OpenFlash Tablet and Powergate are two very different products that serve very different purposes and are now developed independently of each other. Both have their place in the market however. It's just important to know what best suits your individual needs. This goes for customers and vendors alike.

I won't complain about the price or terms, they're great. My only complaint is semantics. You shouldn't call it 'OpenFlash' unless it is truly open. It's a bit misleading. If there isn't a link to a github repo with the source (of the entire stack, under gpl or similar), it's not 'open'. The term gets misused and thrown around a lot.

That said, ill take unlocked, end-user editable maps any way I can get them.
