Mach V Motorsports differential cover
We started working on our own milled aluminum, CNC-machined diff cover more than a year ago. It's been a good bit of work, but it's finally here, and ready for the public.
![]() It's machined from a single very large chunk of aluminum. We designed in extra fins that hang down from the cover to catch some actual airflow. There are two holes for installation of an external diff cooler (not included), and one hole for a diff temp sensor probe. The cover holds about 50% more fluid than the stock one. ![]() I'm not sure if I'm allowed to talk about pricing in this forum; I'll have another post over in the Vendor Classifieds. The diff covers are in stock, and you can buy one today, HERE. We figure people who would be most interested in this will be high-powered cars that run at the track, whether it's road race, drift, or hill-climb. I know some of the Japanese race teams had some trouble with overheating the rear diff early on. More pics... ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() --Dan Mach V Last edited by Mach V Dan; 09-04-2013 at 01:42 PM. |

So does this strengthen the differential?

Well...the differential case is thick and heavy cast steel. I'm not sure it's going to care what kind of aluminum cover it has. I'd guess our cover is stronger/stiffer than the stock cover, for what it's worth. As for the differential itself, inside the case? No effect on its strength.

Very nice work on that. Tooling cost must be pretty high to CNC that much out of a billet.
