I missed the Raven vs. TRD comparison and was only addressing unsprung weight.

You mean the ones w/ the bolts on the rim for swapping out different sizes? 2 and 3 piece wheels are pretty universally heavier than comparable single forgings. What BBS wheels are you referring to? I haven't seen a multi-piece wheel in F1 in since before most of us were born?
F1 being an unrealistic, extreme example, the BBS wheels I mentioned are any of the 16 current production racing wheels like this Porsche GT3 19:

Where do you see the rotors are aluminum in your link? I don't see it, nor have I ever felt or seen one. Only the hat and calipers are. The only thing I can pull up on aluminum rotors is a prototype alloy version developed in 2012.

Right, thought I wrote calipers. THE TRD aluminum hat and calipers mentioned in my link are a big unsprung weight advantage.

Quote:
No, just no, the rotors are iron based. This is why they have a zinc coating, to prevent rust from forming. If they were aluminum, they wouldn't be. Plus they are floating because the aluminum hat and iron rotors expand at different rates. If the rotors were aluminum like the hat, they would make a single forged rotor w/ integral hat to save weight like a F1 wheel from Enkei or Volk. This does not exist or at least is not purchasable by the average consumer.

just get the car weighed !!

If we can get it done here in Montreal land of the you cant do that, im sure you can !

If I run across a weigh station yes. I know this, there is a reference somewhere in this journal lol. I'm not weighing the car till my crawford build is done. Car is nowhere near done unfortunately (doesn't feel complete yet)

Curious how much lighter the billet cams pistons and titanium rods will be from stock. Will see.

Right, for unsprung weight you are correct. I'm talking rotational mass.

Yeah, those multi-piece BBS wheels can't touch a Volk CE28N. The only advantage is changing out rims when you bend them to save cost versus trashing the whole wheel, they are heavier than one piece. They do look cool though, want some for my Jag.

You don't need a weigh station. You can get the weight when you corner weight the car w/ you in it to optimize your coilovers, alignment, etc. Any alignment shop or dealer should have the pads.
