Yup. Every time I take it to the dealer (I get free oil changes), they always ask if I want to trade it in, since they know people want it.

Anything these days is more fun to drive than an STI. Good power, good grip, solid transmission, but understeer understeer understeer.

I like how a modified FR-S beating a stock Evo isnt "anything to brag about," to the Evo fanbois. But when they hand a stock Corvette or some other obviously "better," sports car its a$$ when those cars are stock its all high fives and chest thumping.

That's why drag racing on the street is pretty silly. It's a $$$ game. My friends husband used to race on strip and street and she said he was going through clutches every few months. Fuk dat shit

It isn't anything to brag about. Modded vs. stock isn't the most reputable comparison.

Every owner of every car has done that. But beating a stock Evo in a straight line these days really isn't that hard. Ten years ago, it would've been a bigger accomplishment.
So how do you feel when stock Genesis Coupes nudge ahead of stock 86s then in a straight line? Really, it's not a big deal. Straight line acceleration is cool but not quite the biggest measurement of performance. |

But I know better than to do that on an LS forum dedicated to a platform that has had a lot of performance goals but has always had a focus on straight-line acceleration, whether we're talking about Corvettes specifically or any sporty vehicle to have been given an LS motor from the factory... Camaro, Firebird, GTO, G8, whatever. While today's LS-powered cars are far more capable in the corners than they were a decade ago, going fast toward the horizon has always been their cup of tea. I can't say the same thing for the twins, S2000, Evo, WRX/STI, etc., though some of them were good at it, but they weren't made to kill it on the drag strips.
