These motherfuckers sure are proud!

...for just a few hundred more, I can already get a brand new set of enkei rpf1's with tires. 5x100 people need to get off their high horses.

This idiot seriously needs to get kicked in the face.

http://ontario.kijiji.ca/c-cars-vehi...AdIdZ512321844

$800 and needs tires lol. For stock rims.

The more I browse the used local classifieds for 5x100 wheels, the more I want to punch the fuck outta Subaru for making our 86 with the shitty 5x100 pattern!

In the infinitely more available 5x114.3 pattern, I can get good condition used name brand wheels like volks, works, and ssr's for $1500 all day and likely with usable tires.

Well that's my point! A new wheel and tire package isn't much more than what used ones are going for. People just seem too damn proud of their 5x100 shit.

It just depends on what they're selling. If its stock wheels for a premium that's retarded. If its something unique its exactly that, unique and rare so the value does hold.

In my opinions, the RPF1's are the most affordable and common wheel, so used ones won't be expensive. But lets say it was a set of BBS LM's in 5x100, it'll go for an arm and a leg

They are cheaper priced wheels.. And good wheels, and I've seen them used with tires mounted for 1800, without tires 1000...

I'd pay 200$ more and know for a fact how they are treated.. I've seen the 5x114.3 go for 500$ in 18x9.5... Not sure the offset.. Which makes me want to go get adapters.. But I'm just as uncomfortable running them as I am knock offs.. Also after spending $300+ for quality adapters! I mights as well go with the used wheels for almost the same cost

Yeah I understand. I didn't want to run adaptors either.

I recommend RPF1's cause I do think they're great wheels for the price, and the quality is better than Rotas for like 900. I always tell my friends to get Enkei's over replicas, but thats just my preference cause they ask for my opinion.

I Support 100% Authentic wheels, BUT i do see why people get replicas and its understandable.

Also, I think it's "new model tax" stupid little things cost a lot more on the 86 platform then on other platforms.. Tow hooks for 125$... Civic 25$... I know it's just a plate aluminum on the civics, but I also know what aluminum bar stock cost and a small plate aluminum as a friend works at a machine shop..still 25$ in material..

99$ clear corners.. Honda 15$ crap like that... It's the "GTR tax"... Hell should be called the "86 tax" now

Not sure what your asking??L if your asking how are Rotas considered replicas... It's because they copy other wheel companies designs.. Like the works, volks and others

Almost every wheel company has copied someone else's wheels. Also wheel failure happens to some of the higher brand companies.

Oh no doubt, you can find wheel failures with any brand.. But while some brands might use style cues of another brand... Rota makes wheel to look just like the expensive ones.. For example rota grids are knock offs of volks TE37..

And this is funny as hell

http://jalopnik.com/knockoff-wheelma...eel-1137837262

But search rota wheel failure on google images.. Look at how many, then search volks, enkei, advan, works, and I bet you can add all those companies up and it still wouldn't be what half of rota results are

Well just to be fair to Rota, but Rota sells ten times more wheels than all the major brands so it's safe to say that there will be slightly more Rotas out there that are broke.

I had a set of rare Gotti 2 peice rims that cracked in several places. These guys make wheels for Porsche. It's safe to say that all rims are seceptible to damage. I wouldn't just point at Rota.

I don't mind a set of knockoffs. Everything has its place. In fact, I was planning on getting a set of knockoff SSR SP3. They will strictly be for street use and I no way in hell would trust ringing them around a track. They're way too heavy for track use anyways. But they will be perfect show, cruising, and getting to work and back.

Ultimately I would like to go for a brand name wheel. But I can justify spending $3k for wheels and tires as my priority would rather put that money into a turbo kit of some sort. The used selection is terribly lacking and I think this is our point.

I still believe Rotas are good though. I've seen people track the crap outta them and there are many examples out there of teams using them on their full purpose racecars.
