Well I'm not giving up on these car's.

There is a reason that the calibration changed in the fall of 2012 to ZA1JA01C and no dealer in the USA is allowed to flash this update to cars built before then.

Perhaps the reason is that admitting they changed the ECU mapping would essentially be admitting that there was a defect in the factory map.

Or it could be as simple as dealers cannot link the calibration file to a TSB/bulletin and have no way to perform the update. If it is not in the system, they are not going to update you.

And it is definitely time to stop listening to all the conspiracy theorists around here who have been telling people their engines will meltdown at 30K miles or less..

Egg, meet face..

OK, so just to be super clear.. on Toyota's system the part numbers DO change.. and just to please your pretty little chops..

In North America.. there are three ECU's.. (for a given trim level)

One from Mar-12 to Dec 12
Another from Jan-13 to Jun-13
And the current is from July-13 to date..

So take what you want from that, my bet would be that's for the 700, A00 and A01 cals accordingly...

Some part numbers to CJ to..

SU003-00440
SU003-04593
SU003-04675

Have a nice day now @regal

Thanks CheapToyotaParts for the info...

They can do a system check on the engine with techstream and it shows the engine calibration level. I did it using my VCI cable and techstream

Our ECU, even after the emmissions update/recall/whatever is not "ZA1JA01C". It is ZA1JA00C (I know the last 4 digits are A00C).

Correct. A01C was not available for us, period.

We've already done two, and my private count of cars I know of with the DI seal failure is more than I can count on my fingers and toes...

Are you interested in doing an ECU swap with us if you have a newer ECU?

So you're likely safe if your car is built after July-13? Those would be the 2014 year models, no?

I bought a mini VCI cable and downloaded techstream from a link posted on this site. Techstream has a health check option for the engine.. And it displays the ECM calibration level ..

So anything built after December 12th should be okay?
@ft_sjo, why is there a month gap between computers? Any Idea? My car falls right in the middle of the December 12 and the January 13 (Mine was built January 4th)
