Sooo, I have a little problem. I just got my header from jdl a few minutes ago. Originally, I was going to have them install it and they said they'd be able to do it today. Whelp, turns out they can't do it tonight.

My buddy who I'd usually go to with this stuff is unavailable. I don't have the jack stands etc to do it at my house. Any great ideas on how to throw this bad boy on before 4pm tomorrow?

I have a completely stock AT FR-S and can be there at 9AM. I only have an hour or so though and I don't have any interest in paying for a dyno at this point since I'm not ready to start modding (just bought a new back yard ). Let me know if you want me, text 480-382-6438.

I don't wanna talk about it.

It seems the unofficial motto for this dyno weekend, at least judging by the first day, is: I don't wanna talk about it. I started out heading towards phoenix this morning at around 9am by being redirected to get Jack43 to his car and getting it on the road so we could hopefully get it up to Goodspeed. Apparently Goodspeed's dyno had problems with the weather station in the morning, so while Jack was running behind, we weren't too far behind on the schedule of cars. I arrived at the shop where @nelsmar met me with "we have to go get Jack, he's on the side of the road."

Back in the car after my ~2 hour drive, we do half a dozen loops on the freeway trying to figure out where on the 101 Jack is stuck. Once we finally found him, put some more gas in his car and got it moving, it was about noon, Jack's car was missing it's exhaust, was having issues with fuel starvation and CEL's, and Jack hung around for about 10 minutes before getting a rental car and driving straight back to Tucson. Dyno tuning was taking a little longer for each car than I suppose was originally expected, and the turn around time between cars wasn't the greatest. The day dragged on.

A few NA tunes out of the way, as well as an underwhelming bone stock AT baseline (I don't wanna talk about it), all served as a backdrop to discussions of what had happened to Nelsmar's car, what we were going to do with Jack's car, was @evo4g63's car going to make it to the dyno (I don't wanna talk about it); Oh, and suddenly a last minute drive to Tempe to pick up the "we're just cleaning it up" exhaust from JDL for Jack's car (and the search for an O2 bung plug since @Ninjin took the last one earlier in the day).

More tunes and pulls and oh look the sun is going down and whew everyone is getting tired and hungry and while still optimistic we realized that we were in for a busy Saturday. With the last car of the night off the dyno (once our ears stopped bleeding from the 'because racecar' exhaust volume) and some last minute schedule shuffling for tomorrow, we divided the pizza and sodas, set plans for the night and dispersed. I headed the whopping 2 miles north to my hotel, checked in and fell asleep with the TV on while laying down trying to get motivated to unpack my things.

Now it's 3 am, my midshift sleep cycle is keeping me awake, as is the anticipation of finally getting on the dyno tomorrow, hoping everything goes well for the AZ innovate cars, cursing the lack of an intercooler option in this country (thanks Innovate ), and desperately wanting it to be 8am so I can get this day underway.

Today should be a blast, I look forward to seeing what all the cars do today, hanging out with everyone that shows up to spectate or get strapped to the rollers, and generally come back from the clusterfck that was Friday. I don't wanna talk about it.

Oh, @Dezoris turned up last night as we were finishing up the last car for the day, so I'm sure there will be great video and pictures posted in the coming weeks, narrated of course in the dry, seemingly unimpressed, and yet brutally honest tone we've all come to know and expect. I'll see you all at Goodspeed in the morning.
