Full blown is a nice kit too I just thought it was a little more than the other base kits and you wouldn't be able to use it to its best abilities on that gas. That is just me assuming though

My vote is W/MI or e85 for OP - Cali gas sucks unfortunately.

AVO would be a good option though and is pretty stealth as well. Pretty sure the base tune is tuned directly for 91 oct.

Sorry for the late reply.

My car will be a sleeper build. I'm planning to keep it as stock looking outside as possible, but I want to surprise others (other FRS, S2000's, etc). It's also a DD and a once-a-month track/autocross car.

Keeping those in mind, I would want more power at the low-mid levels. Top speed, I don't really care much about. I want to be more agile at low speeds, not necessarily faster on a straight line.

I would also want a FI kit that won't require me to add expensive supporting mods such as better clutch, bigger brakes and wider tires (I'm keeping the stock wheels, but wrapped with sticky tires).

Just about any of the smaller turbo kits or any supercharger kit would cover what you described.

Since it's a daily driver you'll probably want something very reliable. In my personal unprofessional opinion it seems superchargers are easier to install/uninstall and care for than turbo setups.

It would be worth checking out Vortech (Centrifugal) or Innovate (Twin Screw) supercharger kits. Since Innovate does not have their inter-cooler version ready yet Vortech is about the best option right now unless you have E85 near by or a WMI kit handy.

Recommend either innovate or avo. Base kit or slightly upgraded sounds perfect with you and they are both very cheap and easy to install. Also have a huge midrange compared and better low end compared to vortech or bigger turbos.

There are definitely plenty of options though. I believe limit for stock clutch is 200 wtq or so?

The AVO kit will keep your sleeper look. I know Paul ran 9psi on 91 during his last trip to California

Those are good options. I think the AVO kit would suit you better due to being more stealth/quiet, charge cooled, and better low end torque for auto x.

I like the AVO because of its stealthy placement but I don't know if the $1k additional over the Innovate is worth it.

I'll play devils advocate and say that that is debatable. I'd say that they both have great low end, with the sc having better throttle response and with the turbo having more top end potential.

Innovate twin screw

AVO

Innovate. No intercooler out front will keep the stock look. No kit makes boost quicker.

I know you didn't really mention it, but being in CA with all the fun emissions crap your best bet might be Vortech. They are one of the only companies I know that are going for CARB approval for their kit.

Best FI for 91 gas?

I never saw any information about the Innovate kit going for CARB approval. If they are then I guess so.

Edit: I did some searching and see that they are as well. Might end up looking into that kit when the ICed system comes out.
