Here is the view from the wall, don't mind the car parked blocking the view. You can see the stars pretty well and the parking is paved.

I second Mt. Ham, but sometimes there's too much light coming from SJ that you can't see much. My second fav is Mt. Diablo.

Ok friends,
My grimmspeed front plate mount has completely failed. Half of this is due to abuse and half is poor design (IMO). Whelp I got a front plate ticket while parked overnight in SF so I need to get the plate back on. Are any of you guys running the Perrin or other tow hook front plate holder I can check out in person?!? TIA!

Not sure if it will work on an FRS, but you could check out this innovative way to attach a plate without holes -- magnets! Thanks to @mkivsoopra for telling me about this, it works well for BRZs and I will probably do it soon. http://www.ft86club.com/forums/showthread.php?p=929934 And if you do center mount the plate, you can use the remnants of your grimmspeed mount as a nice secure go pro camera mount: http://www.ft86club.com/forums/showthread.php?t=38269

I second contacting grimmspeed. I have not had an issue with mine since I re-tightened it once about 20k miles ago. I'm sure they would work with you

Also, what exactly happened to your mount? Did it fall out while driving or something? I've never had any problems with my Perrin front plate mount, FWIW, and I've removed it and reinstalled it a few times.

I was parked on Irving and 4th street. I started seeing a girl that lives in that area. This isn't the first time I've spend the night there, but the first that resulted in a ticket. I guess I better get the plate on or find a new girl! lol... kidding... kinda. My failure is actaully on the end of the piece that screws into the tow hook hole.

Also, I imagine that would be an awkward conversation.. "Umm, I like you and all, but I really don't want to run a front plate, and you live in SF... soo... yeah...."
