Hey I heard you got a hitch to tow some of that corn juice with you to the track?

I'm trying to figure out how to get e85 down to my track but the track is ~100 miles from the e85 station. The only ways I can think of getting the e85 down is 1) carry it in car, which isn't safe and not to mention where would I put ~20 gallons of fuel.. 2) buy a truck and tow my car to the track, which I don't want to do because of the money and I bought this car with the intention of *driving* it to the track, or 3) get a hitch.

I just haven't found any hitches for the fr-s yet and I don't want something ugly sticking out of the back. Do you know of any more "stealth" hitches?

I just need a way to get 20 gallons down there damnit lol. And I really don't want to run crap 91 octane (esp. if I go F/I).

EDIT: BTW I love your build. One of my favorite builds on the forum, very complete package now with the Innovate . Love the rims too sexy as hell. I'm still debating doing F/I in general on my car, but hoping to do some track days (still no mods) soon. I really want to be faster but I don't know if Innovate will even be enough to satisfy my speed cravings, lol..

Kask is selling a custom hitch in the vendor section, not sure if that meets your reqs.

Russell carried his jugs of E85 in the trunk.

Interesting thanks for the info I'll check it out.

I wouldn't even think there is enough room in the trunk. But definitely something I've been debating, I just hate the thought of highly explosive containers in the trunk with less than a foot of room in the sad event of some dumbass rear ending me

EDIT: Thanks @OrbitalEllipses !!! This hitch looks perfect. Definitely stealth enough for me.

I plan to install my hitch on Wed or Thur so I should have an update with pics. I'd recommend it. You can get a small trailer from Harbor Freight for less than $200. I'm just renting Uhaul's sport trailer which is a small enclosed trailer that should fit quite a few jugs of E85. I'll have an update early next week on that too.

Update
On Perrin Oil Cooler and added Videos.

I'm very impressed with the Perrin Oil Cooler. I was cruising out to the E85 station this evening and wanted to compare apples to apples:

Both were about the same ambient temps ~86F and approx 30 minutes into a highway cruise:

Pre Oil Cooler:

Post Oil Cooler:

I hit a little stop and go from some stop lights once I got off the highway. Sitting at the lights the oil would creep up to 190F but about 45sec after I was moving about 45-50MPH it went right back to 180F. I am very pleased with the preliminary results. The true test will come at VIR during my two-day track daze (pun intended). Those happen next Mon & Tues.

Videos:
Since my last video I have added the Perrin Cold-Air Intake (sucker whines!) and the Perrin over-pipe.

Are you concerned about your suspension geometry and possible change to bump-steer by shifting the sub-frame?

The blower sounds great. How's the power delivery & butt dyno feel?

Was it worth the cash?

Any regrets not going turbo?

Also, what gear do you first go WOT in on the second video? 1st or 2nd?

The car still feels great, I only lowered those brackets maybe 2-3mm. I don't want to go over-board. I've been busy with some other stuff on my car, I need to inspect my over-pipe to see if I'm getting contact via the sub-frame or if it's the lower control arm. I get a slight buzzing sound at certain RPMs.

Was it worth the cash? Yeah.

Any regrets not going turbo?
Not really other than power but I'm happy with what I have. I wanted to steer clear of additional turbo up keep.

I'm in 2nd gear there.

Stressful couple of days: I'm leaving for Richmond and then VIR on Saturday:

- I got a code P0300 (misfire) but have a new tune in my inbox, waiting on my 3-bar MAP Sensor to arrive tomorrow (signature required and will be at work, ugh). Hopefully the new tune will work good.

- I'm picking up an angle grinder this evening and going to install the tow hitch tonight.

- Ordered a universal trailer wiring kit which should get here on Friday. I plan to wire Friday night and hopefully it works!

- I'm a 1/3 quart low on oil, should have a 2-liter coming tomorrow.

- I had to pay $43 shipping to get a mount for the trailer hitch here by Friday (direct from manufacturer)

- I plan to pick up the trailer on Saturday morning. I'm buying some E85 off a friend of a friend. He is a tuner in Richmond and broke his leg. He has 25 gallons in 5-gallon jugs he isn't going to be able to use (drives a turbo S2K) and that's the quantity I need. So I'm going to borrow his gas cans and return them on my way back.

- I'm dropping my car off tomorrow to get detailed (much needed)

Hopefully everything comes together in time!!!
