Perrin Tranny mount cruise speed whine? Kartboy be the same? thoughts...
So here is gig..
Got the Perrin tranny mount and shift bushing. Anyhow performance wise great for sure. On highway at 65-70mph or 110-114kms there is a "faint" whine, when you accelerate steady it goes away, when let of fast not so audible. I'm convinced its the tranny mount itself and of course I expected nvh to be clear. Anyhow the stop and ramp up nvh is no issue for me it's the faint whine cruising long distance on highway that is tad irritating even with tunes up I can hear it. The tone is faint but most audible at speed limit "of course" :/ Would going from Perrin Tranny mount "metal" to a Kartboy 85 durometer Poly/Rubber mount eliminate the cruise speed whine I'm hearing? Logic tells me it should but then again it's a completely different style of tranny mount to. If anyone has done this test or been in this car with a Kartboy please share your experience with how you feel about this or what you hear as well.. In end ifnIncant find a solution ill yank it and go back to stock, but honestly I like the improvement in feel in the car performance wise.

There was a noticeable increase in NVH when I installed the Perrin transmission support. It got pretty out of hand when I installed the whiteline differential mount. Try loosening your driveshaft bearing mount and retighten it after letting it drop to see if it helps. It helped reduce the NVH I was experiencing.
I also have the Battleversion subframe bushings installed. For what it's worth, I was noticing clunking from the front driver corner of my car, until I installed Turn in Concepts solid steering rack mounts. Sent from my SCH-I535 using Tapatalk 4

Good tip on carrier ill look into that. This is 100% bearable around town and honestly its not bad on hwy but it's the steady faint whine at cruise speed on longer trips I'm not liking.

I only tried the perrin transmission stiffener for transmission mount. Whiteline is only installed on the rear differential. Totally separate but modifications done to the driveline.

Oh ok sorry I thought you meant the WL tranny insert as well as I've heard of guys doing that. I should mention yes I have the WL subframe bushings but no diff mount etc...
Did you end up removing the Perrin tranny mount or just learned to live with whatever nvh you have now?

It's the immortal performance vs comfort decision.

i have cusco tranny mount, Perrin rear shift mount, WL diff mount inserts and WL rear subframe inserts. along with STI engine mount, there isn't a lot of NVH increase but there is definitely more sound but they are not too audible over my Perrin header back....

Interesting. Is the cusco tranny mount a solid T shape like Perrins? I ask this as there are no good pictures showing it really..

Perrin one is a T shape like stock only fills gap, WL one a totally different one where it surrounds like Kartboy. Now you're saying this Perrin T Shape one is poly?? Sure felt like metal to me?.....I'm speaking of tranny mount not shifter bushing here... Shit maybe its too late and I'm not making sense lol..
Thx for pic on cusco one. Don't quite understand that one in comparison to others. I'm sure if seen and was mounting it in would make more sense to me.
