Welcome to Europe. Dutch government imposes CO2 output based tax on every new car sale. Anything 300 gram or higher gets around $70.000 in tax alone, on top of the original US price of the car. And mind you that's after already paying 10% import tax and 21% sales tax.
And now this may sound funny but a BRZ or GT86 is much more affordable here, because it outputs half of the CO2 of a V8 Stang. We pay "only" $56.000 for one of those. |

Don't get me wrong, I love me some Z28 but not this way. There had to be a better way to reduce the weight then to turn it into an anti-daily driver.

Smaller, lighter, and IRS. Looks like I might have to keep this on my radar.

I may be adding another stang to my stable hehe. Think the wife would mind me having 2 new cars? I'll have to start saving if this thing looks and performs well

were not going to get all of those things in one package which is unfortunate. besides, as far as i can tell, the mustang has had the option of irs in the past and it wasnt better than the live axle of its vintage. i feel the suspension is a means to an end and the mustang doesnt really suffer from the solid axle

![]() The Terminator's IRS wasn't great, and then when people wanted to drag race, as they are wont to do with a high horsepower pony car, they just dropped in the SRA. Somehow I don't think they're going half assed on this one though. SRA works, but IRS has some real pros for DD application as well. |

If Ford can impress with the solid axle, they should be awesome with the IRS. Solid axle shows less weakness on a nice smooth track, but IRS will be beneficial to normal roads and rougher tracks. Plus way less unsprung weight. This thing's going to destroy Camaros.
