I have had the same issue, but I believe it's a mixture of the fuel vapors [high ambient temps increase vapor] and the good pressure their pumps have. That's just my aircraft fuel systems to car application 2 cents.

Or it could be an anomaly.

Hmm was thinking the same way. It also dribbles just a bit if your not putting a ton of pressure on it. And then when you take it out it just goes all over the place. It's gotta be something with the pressure in the tank. It's just weird I've never had an issue with it before

Well first, did you own this car last summer during high humidity and temps? Second, did you fueling routine change? Cooler times, or middle of the day or highest part of the day?

Combination of fuel pressure being pumped in and vapor pressure in fuel tank. High pressure fuel being forced into tank will create higher pressure in fuel tank thus causing a rush of vapor to blowback towards the fuel nozzle causing a shut down...until that equalizes or the vapor dissipates then you have the shut off problem.

Hmm I've had my car for a year and it's always a random time when I fill up. I'll have to keep an eye on it.

I have a Evaporative Cooler in my garage if you need a "less hot" place to install.

I'm from New Jersey originally...I used to pissed off 12 months a year because of the people, Now that I live out here it's only 3 months and because of the heat.
