I just discovered these Bluetooth adapters... I'm buying one now and going to test the Torque ap with my Nook HD+ 8.9" before my BRZ gets here

I'll report back when my scanner tool arrives...

This seems to have fixed the connection issue. I'll play around with it some more and see if I get freezing and what not.

hmm...I seem to be having trouble reading Custom PIDs.

I bought one of those cheap OBD adapters (BT) from ebay.

normal guages work but custom PIDs like the Oil Temp and and Fuel remaining doesn't seem to work.

Any ideas?

I got it to work on my Galaxy S3 on both the Forester and Lexus CT200h (getting it setup for the BRZ when I go pick it up) but I can't get my Nook HD+ to use the PIN# for the adapter and its frustrating...

I REALLY want to use the Nook cause of the 8.9" display!

You may need to root the nook if possible. The 1st gen Nexus 7 is going for super cheap these days and that thing works nice with Torque.

Newegg has the refurbished Asus NEXUS7/1B16 Nexus 7 16GB Android Tablet (1st Generation) for $150 - 10% off with coupon code VME10BTS [Exp 8/19] (when you check out with V.me by Visa) - $20 rebate [Exp 8/16] = $115 with free shipping.

Is anyone else having trouble with the Oil Temperature PID?

I'm getting values all over the place and definitely not the results I'd expect to get. When graphing the value jumps around like crazy. It's definitely reading data but there's no way it's the oil temperature, as it registers in the negatives on a warm summer day after the car's been running for a half hour.

I use it to monitor mine with w oil cooler installed and it registers correctly, I would double check your pid and calculation

Same Adrian G.

It might have something to do with the adapter settings?

Have to borrow someone else's cheapo adapter to check.

Anyone here can shed some light?

Thanks.

I set mine for 0 and 500 for min and max temps, since I have it set for Fahrenheit not Celsius.

It must be an issue with my adapter. With my Scantool.net OBDLink SX my oil temperatures are all over the place:

This is with the car fully warmed up.

I get stable numbers with my V-Link wifi adapter though.... Unfortunately it reads a lot slower than the OBDLink.

Anyone have any ideas?
